/a/ goes back to 2008 split standards and deletes everything that isn't anime and manga.
Hopefully the rush of new people injects interest on miscellaneous related topics. However, this is a risky move due to the strong board xenophobia but it could work since what kills /jp/ is that the only source of entertainment for most of the userbase seems to be found in systematically ruining the board with spam. At least the most active posters are if we go by number of new threads that have to be deleted.

So yeah, force the buyfag, visual novel and assorted mobile games communities off /a/ and shift the current makeup of the /jp/ userbase, maybe resetting the last couple years of stagnation and attrition wars. Or fail entirely turning the board into a "YMK is the best" place. I like to think that it would be better to make a risky move than stay like this forever.

The board still serves a purpose and a special community of posters. We just need to improve the quality standards and break free from this downward spiral. Only thing I know for sure is that change won't come from aggressive moderation anymore, all sides are deeply entrenched in their ways now.

We need to make that section of /jp/ feel like it has somewhere else to go, which there isn't, really.

Truthfully, if you take all the shitposters away, /jp/ is a slow, boring board about extremely niche interests. .

You kidding?
/jp/s completely random post rates combined with the huge amount of sage around the board makes getting GETs quite a difficult experience.

>> No.11381195

Most posters aren't even polite enough to sage these days.

the only thing that can fix it is time, less moderation, and metaposters like us not having metadiscussion in non meta threads

with the touhou fanbase this was inevitable any way you look at it

blabla I just posted some rant on /q/ so I'll copy paste

Every interesting thread (that could lead to original content, humor, all that) seems to be derailed into meta commentary if moves slightly off-topic. Moving from topic to topic is what makes this place special. That's how conversations are held. This stuff comes from an adoption of differing views, knowledge of multiple subjects. Defined board categories kill the ingenuity and impose fear of linking concepts.

the more I look at it the more I feel like moot & co took some marketing course and realized that if they attract more children by letting them think they care they can sell more ads and passes

This person knows what he's talking about.

That and you faggots wont stop derailing threads into blog shit and dick sucking. Every fucking thread theres one of you faggots going "tee hee can i suck your dick". And someone else always responds.

>>11381200
That's part of what makes the experience so exciting. You never know if someone used sage on page 1, 2 or 3...

Though I do have to admit you are right, /jp/ has been way too slow lately. 2 posts per minute slow.
And that kinda takes away the fun of getting GETs on /jp/, back when 10+ posts per minute was the average, it was cool.

>> No.11381204,3 [INTERNAL]

Normally, I would agree that it's too slow, but I think its actually keeping shitposters away. It's also giving me more time for my interests.

I didn't realize how much time I spend on /jp/ until I was banned like a month ago.
