You know, when I became familiar with yukkuris a couple of years ago, I started going on that one yukkuri booru, looking for cute pictures, and ultimately doing a little translation. The whole time I was in "just ignore it"-style denial about how messed up most of the yukkuri "community" is. Almost all of them liked the gruesome stuff (and that's a solid majority of what is drawn/written), a couple of their styles of comment writing made them sound like good serial killer candidates, and they always went super nuts at people who questioned the crazy sadism.

It's really too bad, because if you look at the very earliest art, it's all just stupid and adorable, and it could have been something nice. Instead, I think I probably would say it's the creepiest corner of internet culture I'm aware of that isn't something illegal.

I think OYP is quite already, that abyuse booru on the other hand is pretty sick.

What bothers me a little is that most artists posted there are fans of abyuse aswell. Kiriraitaa is amazing but while you have some very easy works like Between Studies, you have some completely twisted shit like True Happiness.

I used to be completely disgusted by abyuse, but then started to read more into it and now I can completely understand when it's 'justice' against shitheads. But I feel like shit when a nice yu gets abused for nothing like in anko 3213.

From my experience, they are generally open to discussion about "abyuse" and "justice", but only so on the dedicated forums. They have strict rules about posting comments on individual images, and if you post an abyuse comment on a family-friendly picture, or an anti-abuse comment on an abyuse image, they will get angry, and may redirect you to the forums

I don't think that the original adorable art has disappeared, it's just that more people have started to do their own things with the concept. I also don't think that they are "prime serial killer material", as most of them are strictly against any form of human/animal torture, but are perfectly OK with yukkuri, because hey, they are just fucking talking pastries that only exist on paper, and you can't really "torture" or inflict pain on something that doesn't exist.

Damn, some people are so fucking dumb. If you don't like it, why did you fucking look it up and read it? It is clearly marked as "offensive" and if you aren't into that, then don't look at it, comment on it and decrease its star rating because of your reddit-esque "downboat everything that I don't like" mentality.

I now understand why OYP has such a strict policy on what goes into the comment section.
