Ever since ZUN started focusing on the more "japanesy" aspects of his works (probably because of his yamato nadeshiko nippon so sugoi wife) , Touhou went to shit. Creativity went down the drain. Double Dealing Character had everything to be perfect, in fact, I consider DDC demo a masterpiece. However the rest of the game is an abomination, loli with a bowl hat? Fucking seriously? Fuck off ZUN's wife. Go ruin another franchise, stay out of Touhou.

I think it's too late to say that.
Touhou has been leaning towards Japanese aspect since PCB, though I agree the games before MoF at least shown some "foreign" aspect that's not Japanese and now with DDC it seems try to make it back on track. I'd say the game looks no different than IN or PoFV in terms of characters.

I think UFO and TD are just ZUN's attempt at trying something new.
Also if anything, TD looks more chinese than japanese.

There's a Megaman clone that features many UFO characters. All of them except for Kogasa and Nue are playable too. It's pretty well made and the music is great. It's called 東方虹華薬-TheGame-.

There's probably a lot more but that's what comes to mind first. I mean I think there was this TD platformer that came out during C83 but it didn't look that great.
