For a while I went on a bit of a coffee fling. I bought a hand grinder, researched different techniques to brew coffee, and bought freshly roasted beans from the local roaster. I eventually settled on using a french press, and it was actually really satisfying and a lot of fun, grinding my beans for each cup. In the end I went back to tea, though.

I should buy some more beans. Coffee milk sounds delicious for this hot summer.

I imagine a tru coffee otaku would have many pots and tools and probably special orders their beats online for a considerable fee. Some probably even travel to certain popular coffee bean growing countries.

I also assume they hate starbucks just to be elitist.

Sitting here remembering that really makes me feel nostalgic. The smell from my room for those few months was amazing. I miss it. Maybe during winter I'll go back to drinking coffee like like I did back then. Coincidentally the grinder I bought is very similar in size to my penis. The grinder is just a tad thicker and shorter than my penis.

>>11228220
I also bought a small pocket scale to help measure out how much cofee I needed, but I never got into the flavor profiles of specific countries.

Like I said, I eventually went back to tea. I like it more, and it doesnt make me feel as jittery as coffee. Plus there's much more variation in tea and I like that.

I never went so far to travel but I've roasted beans from all over the world in my little home roaster. I also have five different brewing machines/devices. I'm pretty good at identifying where coffee has come from by flavor even at this point. And I've even got an indoor coffee bush that bore fruit once. It wasn't enough to get a full roast from.

>>11228232
I've also gone back to tea. Same reason, I tend to want to drink throughout the day and if I drink coffee all day it's too much. I'd love to try growing and processing my own tea one day.

That guy is coffee professional. They sell great beans but have become more expensive in the past few years.

Brewing like that is really time consuming and the results aren't that much better than just throwing proper sized grinds in with proper temp water and one stir. He throws a lot of numbers around but it isn't that much of a science. If the cup tastes good it's not that important.

>whats wrong with blogging so long as its interesting?
It's not intolerable if it's something that only happens from time to time. Everybody should be allowed to blog once a month. The problem with having blog threads up around the clock is that people feel entitled to tell you about what they did every single fucking day, and eventually you get fuckwits who come to /jp/ just to blog about their lives and hang out with their blogging friends, and that's terrible.

It was better before the generals for sure. I think it's the entire site that has changed. Nobody wanted blogging before. That's the niceness behind anonymity, it's not egocentric.

I still don't agree with banning them when other generals remain. I mean, look at idol threads. Nobody cares about them but they're essentially a blog that keeps updates on various idols.

Ehhh, thats sort of why I post with a trip.
It helps me keep track of my older posts because I tend to reference them a lot to keep track of uploads and certain images, and also as a reference to my perceived mental state at the time.

Reading back on the last couple years of my text have been enlightening for sure, although I suppose I could do it a more subtle way like putting something in the email field. I think /jp/ is mature enough to see that i'm not just here to shitpost though since my posts are almost always on topic and sometimes helpful, so they tend to just ignore the name altogether. Or i'm probably on everybody's filter so nobody even sees my posts, who knows.
