Gaijin. It seems we hear the word every day. For some, it's merely harmless shorthand for "gaikokujin" (foreigner). Even Wikipedia (that online wall for intellectual graffiti artists) had a section on "political correctness" that claimed illiterate and oversensitive Westerners had misunderstood the Japanese word.

I take a different view: Gaijin is not merely a word; it is an epithet — about the billions of people who are not Japanese. It makes assumptions about them that go beyond nationality.

Open borders + democracy + strict laws against discrimination is a recipe for disaster built out of well-meaning parts.

Why? Because that means any tribe numerous enough can take over your land without a war, simply by immigrating in numbers, out-breeding you, and ultimately reducing your tribe to a minority in their own country. And you can't do a thing about it, not even speak up against it, because that would be discrimination.

When people talk about racism, it's misleading - it's really all about tribes, not races. The muslims aren't a race, but they are a tribe, and an extremely powerful one at that, able and willing to use our weaknesses to spread their influence and gain control of more of the globe.

At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You also pride yourself as an independent thinker; and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. But you have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. Open borders are the problem and stricter immigration laws are the key. They should not just be concerned on who gets in, but what they do _while_ they're in too. It should be made clear to them that once they enter the new country, be it US or France or Germany or fucking Monaco or whatever, they are expected to stop being whatever the hell they used to be and start being Americans, French, Germans, etc. They should have a positive obligation to in every way try to "fit in" in their new country.

Also: free language lessons (and basic schooling for those who don't yet have it) and mandatory testing, with you being kicked out if you don't master the language perfectly within 3 years or so (5 for those really tricky languages like Japanese and Finnish).

The immigrants should be informed that their acceptance is dependent on how acceptable they make themselves. They can't turn white for us and thus we'll let that pass, but they have to turn _western_ for us, because that's just related to their behavior and they can control it.

i'm fucking sick of people crying about taxes when there have ALWAYS been taxes

and they use stupid shit like "I am paying for [undesirable person, possibly brown] to [something lazy or criminal] with my hard work" when they are equally paying for fire service, schoolbooks and national parks.

In fact, as soon as taxes are mentioned, I just enter rage mode. it's the most pathetic thing anyone can complain about, the system is older than any of us alive today. Just stop convincing yourself that you earn your pre-tax salary, ignore the money you spend on taxes and everything will be fine

and you won't die from a stroke at 43

>> No.1121779

>>1121752

You don't get to choose the specifics of how your taxes are used. If you did, you'd only ever improve shit around your own home and house, and that would ruin the whole point of taxes.

The government uses the tax money to fund whatever it deems worth funding, and the only way you get to affect that is to vote for different people, or emigrate and try to shop around for a society that does things closer to what you want. But you will never find one that uses your tax money ONLY to improve things that affect your life directly, because that kind of thing is impossible and does not even make sense.

Now, if you meant that in the general sense the taxes could be used more efficiently, that I agree with. There's entirely too much bureaucracy around that serves no practical purpose. But in the end, the tax money has to go to the people who need it the most, not to the people who paid it the most.

One fourth? Damn, that seems nice, compared to the "70% goes to military spending" setups we have seen. Welfare is probably the sanest thing you can spend money on - keep in mind that it includes things like schooling etc., and all of these help keep the order in wherever you live, better than any amount of cops and cameras can.

Ultimately, you never deserve as much money as you make. The free trade is inherently unfair, because it becomes easier to make money the more you have, and harder the less you have. A blanket tax on everything and some specific, low tax-free sum given to every citizen for just being alive seems like the basis of a just economy.

Hell no. I hate people who start out rich without having done anything constructive in their lives. But I also recognize that most people are not poor out of laziness, or because of anything else that could be reasonably called their own fault. Most people are poor because they were just dealt in some way worse cards than others through blind luck, and that is not fair.

I have always believed that life isn't fair, but a well-planned society can and should be. And the way that can be achieved is that you tax away some of the undeserved strokes of luck from people A, and use it to compensate for the undeserved misfortunes of the people B. People A will of course bitch about it, but if they're smart they recognize that this keeps people B from killing them and taking their shit, as would be their right otherwise.
