(Sorry for my bad english)

It was winter 2008,i decided to finally try Umineko no naku koro ni. I had never been a very big fan of the previous work of ryukishi07, but Beato design grasp my attention. from the first episode, i was hooked, the slow introduction of the characters didn't bother me, being a fan of detective genre. The musics were perfect in my taste, this whole creating an atmosphere which get me forget about the bad graphics. The first tea party was a great moment, with Beato showing up and poiting out all the unexplainable little things.
Episode 4 is were my hype was the hightest, i was thinking of umineko night and day at this time, the final confrontation with dreamendischarger is still for me one of the epicest moment in any VN anime or whatever... I didn't care Battler theory were stupid.
and... Chiru
Episode 5 was a bit disapointing... But the ending give me hope. I was thinking in that time that Battler will fight to regain the gamebord for him and Beato si they can finally have their true final confrontation.
I totaly love episode 6. It's hard to explain but Beato/Shanon/Kanon being the same person was ok for me. end the battle between Erika and Battler is insane.

I don't what to say about episode 7... Beato backstory is sad. So we have some true but doesn't truh matter anymore at this point ?

For years now i have a strange feeling, i didn't dislike chiru and episode 7 give me a closure feeling. But at the same time i never got motivation for doing episode 8. maybe because elements that gave me excitment in first 4 episodes were gone forever.

I still of umineko, the fame seem to be completly gone on internet. I still hope for an animated chiru who goes who stay in the Battler vs Beato (Who knows, maybe Ryushiki really change is story because is friend death)

anyway... does Ryukyshi07 still working on something ?

How the heck can you possibly like EP6 better than EP5?
EP5 was the peak of the rollercoaster and 6 was just about as bad as 4. Filled with raburabu garbage no one cares about, Battler's disappointing incompetence, and Beato's "replacement" (I'd rather Beato stay dead than have her be resurrected but not quite the same Beato, that was a huge slap in the face) it was a clear contrast to EP5's hilarity.

If you believe the red truth is absolute, then Rosatrice is a better theory than Shkanotrice because it has no logical contradictions.

If there's a convincing theory that's more logically consistent than Rosatrice, I'd like to hear it.

I'm still confused as to why Lion and Wright played no major role in the last episode when they survived the events of the end of episode 7. It seems like while writing episode 8 R07 just decided to keep them alive for the fan's sake and didn't know what to do with them after that.

>It seems like while writing episode 8 R07 didn't know what to with them after that.

>It seem R07 didn't know what to do.

And that's the real problem with chiru. During the course of 1~4 Ryukishi throw a lot of mystery novels référence, build up a complex murder case...

But then in Chiru didn't know what to do and drown is own story into magical element, slapping reader face with all of his " Truth is not imprtant, heart is !"

magic or not, the "how dunnit" is equally important as "why dunnit" Murder on the orient express is a prime exemple.

i think it's totally possible to have in Umineko an explanation for the murders AND explore Beato characters, Battler sin and all the familly feud

But Ryukishi gone too far with is closed room, maybe thinking he'll have time to find an explanation until later's episode writing, but couldn't

no Dine, no Know, no fair... so cheap

Symbolically and narratively, Shakannon is more interesting.
Literally, Rosatrice makes more sense and expand on the characters rather than put the whole focus on a single character.

In my opinion, both are correct since this is a catbox and the story uses red herring to allude to both.
Thus both should and can be accepted.

Umineko is a terrible VN. I found it wholly disappointing. It also managed to retroactively ruin Higurashi, which was actually good, so fuck R07. I believe that Shannon/Kanon/Beatrice is the canon theory, but I believe that R07 originally intended Rosa and George to be the culprits but changed it when he began to work on the latter chapters for unknown reasons, probably concerning his dead friend or the fact everyone on both the Japanese and English web had caught on to the fact Rosa or George was likely the culprit.

It was a masterful illusion, and years after there is still people who didn't understand how it was done. Kudos to Ryukishi.

This is more or less what is the problem with Umineko. It's well thought. It assumes the reader is reasonably clever and fair in its search of truth. There is an awfully big number of reference thrown everywhere, and when you reread it, you can't help but be amazed of the depth of the mystery. That's the problem.

/jp/ readers are moron. The vast majority of the western and eastern anime fandom of Umineko consisted of immature people, manchildren, 2ch overweight otaku, tumblr feminists, and all in between. They are not rational. They are not fair. They can't think straight, for the most part. When you try to be clever with these people, you're really shooting yourself on the foot.

Ryukishi tried to create a deep, moving and intricate story with people who think that School Days is a masterpiece of narration. He tried to create a meta narrative using heavy post-modern element when his fandom consisted of 15 years old residing in their mother basement. He tried to play logic and mystery with people who couldn't use logic even if they wanted.

He tried to be rational with autistic children, and the autistic children answered with a 12 hours long video of fallacies and sophistry about an alternative theory making no good sense whatsoever.

It didn't go quite as planned, I guess.

I won't answer you. Either you are able to find this answer yourself, it is very simple if you know the rules of Umineko. Or you're able to find this answer on the internet. Stupidity is not an excuse, anon. It will never be.

What a waste.

>Also you sound extremely pretentious.

It's the truth. It is harsh, like all truths are.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHMta4YbjSM

This video is actually a very good example of what is commonly called propaganda. The author uses the same careful mix of fallacies and repetition you find in conspiracy theories and state-wide disinformation. He's even reasonably good at it, though not very subtle.

Why do you believe it is so long? One word: Repetition. It's almost hypnotic really. The speaker repeats the consequence of his theory, and repeats it, and repeats it, until it becomes almost an automatism. He draws specious conclusions from all the little spark of doubt he can find and hammer them again and again and again until you can't think straight. Every single one of his arguments has fairly logical and simple rebuttal, but he uses the repetition to create a fairly solid looking house of cards. It's fascinating.

I don't really think he is willingly deluding, the same thing an autistic conspiracy theorist doesn't aim to delude intentionally. It's just how they think, how they argue, how they want to believe. It's not their sincerity that is wrong, it's their minds.

On this subject, look at the other videos on his channels. With all the due respect to a fellow human being, this guy has some loose ends.

Has anyone played Higanbana? It wasn't quite the same level as Umineko, but I found it very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the 2nd Night a lot. And Rose Gun Days a little bit, but more so whatever Ryukishi07 will be making after it.

Also, they make it impossible for me to immerse myself in the story. The way they look reminds me of the fact that I'm reading a visual novel. I can't concentrate.

>voicework
Enjoy waiting forever for the characters to stop talking.

It also kills many scenes for me. It's hard to be touched by important scenes when every time battler screams it sounds like he's got a bad case of diarrhea. It's less like he's screaming out of anguish and more like he's dealing with the aftermath of prunes.
