I tried asking on /lgbt/ like someone said but that place makes me uncomfortable and the people are weird.

I want to be pretty like a girl so how do I learn about makeup? All the tutorials assume I know what some piece of equipment is or how I do a certain technique. I can search those but I always end up hitting a dead end.

There are plenty of tutorials that don't assume that. You can search for either beginner makeup tutorials or cosplay makeup tutorials. You'll probably find more of the former for the basics, such as what various tools are called, what kinds of makeup there are.
