I have parents that could in theory support me but not at the standard of living I want. Yes, I like buyfagging and shiny things. I'd rather have them and spend less time with them due to work than not have them. A welfare check (even when living with parents) would never be able to buy the stuff I'm into. I am a little envious of people with parents who go to extremes to spoil their kids though.
