Despite my mild social anxiety, I somehow managed to sign up for a gym two months ago and since then went three times every week.
One hour of general cardio/fitness stuff and then one hour on the cross trainer. I've managed to lose quite some weight already.

But then I recently discovered indoor rock climbing. It's really fun and triggers the same gotta-clear-this-route instinct as touhou games. It has to do with the amount of calories you use on a daily basis. If you eat a lot and exercise little, you'll burn little calories, then you'll not only get fat but you'll keep that fat longer. If you eat a lot and exercise a lot, then you'll burn a lot more calories even if you stop exercising for a day. It's all about your metabolism.
