11026138 No.11026138 [Reply] [Original]

Let's start a j-music/k-music/Otaku-music thread.

I'll start:

When it comes to poppy stuff I like Suga Shikao, B'z, Ayumi Hamasaki, TUBE, Arashi, FLiP (Damn awesome), Abingdon Boys School, KPP, Shiina Ringo/Tokyo Jihen, Perfume, anything by Nakata really, Kana Hanazawa, etc to tired to think of more.

When it comes to other stuff I listen to Boris, World's End Girlfriend, Syrup16g, ART-SCHOOL, supercell, Nujabes, Boredoms, Yuki Kajiura, Yoko Kanno, Fushitsusha, Ground Zero, MASS OF THE FFERMENTING DREGS and recently I discovered Ling Tosite Sigure (凛として時雨), through PSYCHO-PASS, first anime I picked up in over 2 years.

I'm still trying to like Touhou music, but for some reason I don't enjoy it that much. ;_;

As for k-music, B2ST, T-ara, SHINEe, MBLAQ, and JYJ. All others are garbage.

What's does /jp/ listen to?

Picture is what I ordered recently, still didn't get it.

What's wrong? Like I said there are good artists but the majority is garbage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAzWT8mRoR0

What amazes me is that the concept that k-pop in built upon is directly taken from Japan. They basically took the same concept of manufactured idols and ran away with it, leaving the Japanese in the dust. It's funny how big k-pop artists are in Japan right now.

But I guess that's Korea. Steal everything from other countries but make it 10 times better.

If you look at the music industry in other Asian countries like Japan and even Taiwan, you'll notice that it's all over the place with no clear direction.

In Korea, the industry has a direction that everyone who works in it understands and follows. Even the small things like always releasing music videos in a timely fashion in good quality on well organized YouTube channels is a tool that is used to great success. This is why i find k-pop interesting, even if the medium is very shallow.

I have fallen in love with the japanese interpretation of math/post rock. Toe, Dinner, Lite and A picture of her, are all really good.

I also checked out some japanese screamo recently. Listened to Envy and heaven in her arms, and liked both of them. It's actually possible to understand what they are yelling for a change. Does anyone know of any screamo touhou music? It might be interesting.

I don't listen to touhou music that much anymore, sadly. My favorite album is probably pic related.

I used to be really big on following Utada Hikaru (hiatus) and Perfume (very much same sound from before) and anisongs.

Right now I'm very hooked on those nicosingers that cover Vocaloid songs. For some reason, I really like them even if they aren't produced quite as good from the mainstream kind.

I used to like KPOP as well, until every week spouted a new group. I used to follow: SHINEe, 2AM, TVXQ and B2ST.

I am here from 2ch so excuse my english

KPOP is growing in the west for no good reason
let me explain why KPOP and threatens the Japanese Market

Korean is trying to over take Japan at its market mainly Otaku Market the truth is
Korean has no talent or culture so it steals Japanese culture
in a bad way by its Sexualized Market targeting young teen demographic

I live in the Kanto region and everyday more Korean media shows up.
The reason why the trend is still growing is because of the
Asian obsessed West
who dont know the deference of our culture and supports any Asian just for nothing

there are alot of people in Japan who follow the west and accepting Korean culture which is stolen from Japan you make Koreans gain more of that Market

our culture is our culture they just steal others Please stop supporting Korean

Thank You for Your time (*ノ・ω・)

“I owe [Fuji] a lot but to be honest, I don’t watch it anymore. I’m very often wondering whether [Fuji] is a Korean TV network. We Japanese want Japanese shows. So for now, I just turn the TV off whenever Korean stuff comes on. Good-bye.”

ごめんね申し訳ない^^ 俺生粋の日本人だから。

“Sorry, my bad ^^ But I’m a real Japanese.”

“Fuji TV shows too many Korean dramas. Japanese people want traditional Japanese programs. It feels like Korean programs brainwash you.”

Korean stealung from Japanese culture is nowadays like stealing mouldy fruit from a fruit stand that used to be popular. They are being taught to sell fruit from American fruit conglomerate who knows what sells and what doesn't.

Go do yourself a favor. You want to see koreans shrink. Start behaving like an American and make truly sexier videos. Not just generic genki pop but sultry sexy pop.
