GGs. Try to look at when and how it's unsafe to approach and attack. Marisa has long reach, and the attacks cancel into light bullets fast, so it's almost never safe to just rush into her. You can use buddhist light bullets as cover, and use 2B canceled into a bullet often to fish for hits. 2B 5X cancels into high damage combos, and is relatively safe, so it's a very good move in many situations. It's also often safe to start a round with a light bullet, since yours comes out much faster than many others, and it allows you to move in.
Light bullets are a wonderful tool, since they usually block attempts to punish your whiffed attacks with melee.

GGs, sorry for playing shitty today, was missing a ton of my combos and shit. That, and trying to handle Marisa 8B is the worst thing, move you out of the corner with a big disjointed hitbox that also hits behind you? That attack is so beast.

GGs wewantsakuyaback. You pretty much need to take the offense in this game, since just blocking will lower your popularity, and if the opponent doesn't feel like hitting your guard after a moment, they can just avoid you and win by popularity. If you hold any attack button while guarding, you'll push the opponent away, so use that to escape pressure.

3 points in a single religion is enough to change the X and Y bullets (skills are always the same no matter the religion) and having an equal amount of points in more than 1 religion counts as neutral.
As for items I haven't bothered with any of them, but I've seen a few players that play with the force shield which reduces damage.

Granted it would be far better to make things naturally offensive instead of forcing it with a blanket system, but it's better than nothing. I tried to be a little passive-aggressive with Futo. It still ended with me back-paddling a bit at times. I also screwed up a few of my spellcards, because I'd forget I had activated them, and go to use the attack that uses that same combination of buttons.

The system is too inconsistant. You don't need a limit combo to get popularity but once the opponent's bar turns green, you do. BUT some combos still do. Is there a character specific component, as well? It's not based on number of hits, damage, or percent limit. Some lower-damaging or less-hitting non-limit combos still give popularity after the green bar compared to the better combos before.

What determines if an IP is good or not? Do you just throw out a number and it will basically work no matter what?

Copy the ip and choose the 4th option on the netplay menu. Then first option is to connect for a match. The second is for spectating. If you choose the first and it doesn't get through then either there's already someone there or they aren't hosting anymore.

Apparently there is a secret Skill/gimmick to make Mamizou use some sort of a Kaioken x10.
Anybody know how to do that please? I have see it during a match so i know it's real.

no that's not what i meant. you still post your external ip (google "ip"). but when you go to forward the port in your router's config, make sure your computer's ipv4 is the one it's using for that port.

Is there anywhere explained what the character specific mechanics are?
I know Marisa gets a bit more damage on every 4th special attack or strong projectile, Nitori uses this retarded ammo system and Koishi AutoExecutes stuff after a delay, but that's pretty much about it.
I read somewhere Byakuren get's passive benefits depending on the skill she has active Ichirin kinda goes into rage sometimes and Futo seems to count the plates she burned, but I don't know what this is used for.
The rest I haven't even the slightest Idea.

I guess as a recommendation from my end, try to be careful against really deadly Spell Cards. You played pretty well defensively when I would declare most of them, but against ones like Marisa's Master Zoom or whatever and Futo's fire spell card, you tended to get baited. That's pretty much the only reason I won like half of the matches I did.
