OP here, I'm actually a Britfag and I'm pretty sure not a single person I know would have ever seen anything like this before, so I did expect someone to call weeaboo on this when I posted it.

I'm not sure if he means a ghost that is a reporter, or someone that reports on ghosts. The semantics are ambiguous.

>Weeaboo? They teach you how to make this shit in American Kindergarten classes.

No, they don't.

>In America its called a ghost. In Japan its called a teru teru bōzu.

In japan a ghost is referred to as "yuurei" or "obake." A teru teru bozu is something believed to make the rain go away when you hang it by the window.

OP is a fucking weeaboo.

>> No.1096315

Is there something you can hang that can invite rain?

Just hang it upside-down.

>> No.1096330

>No, they don't.

Yes they do, that's where I learned it. You take a piece of sheet or something, stuff it with tissue, tie with with a string or put a rubber band on it and draw your smiley face. We made them for Halloween and hung them around the classroom.

Shit is elementary.

lol a pun

>> No.1096336

>>1096330
But they use them as fair-weather charms. If you are, then you are a weeaboo.

>> No.1096339

>>1096330
Yeah, we did that as kids too. We were never taught that the Japanese also do it, though; we were just making ghosts.

>> No.1096350

OP here again, I'm definitely aware of the weeaboo-ness of this, but don't really care too much as I think it's cute and fun. I definitely never made them in school or have even seen them in England before.

Now tripfagging for future reference.

Oops, sorry, didn't see that post.
Well if you're still around, it's pretty sweet. The pay's pretty good (compared to most wage monkey minimum wage jobs) and you're your own boss, so you get to take time off whenever you want, do your own hours, don't have to take shit from anyone, and you get pretty fit walking around with heavy ladders all day. I certainly enjoy it.
The only problem is that you don't get any paid time off, and you can't work when it rains, so no work=no money.
