How does /jp/ maintain such an original condition?

In other words, why is /jp/ more like 2003 4chan as opposed to /a/ which is similar in nature, but more like 2013 4chan?

I've heard /jp/ consists of legendary trolls. Is it true?

/jp/ has aged, just a lot less than other boards, but it is noticeably shittier than when it was first made.

I would say that /jp/ is basically a cross of /b/ and /a/ and is not really about anything, and has an extremely negative stigma about it, even for 4chan standards, making it a stronghold for oldfags from before /b/ was mainstream and normalfags who grew up watching anime took over /a/.
