Mini translation project:

So I've been waiting for the translation of the last two parts to Koishi's Heart Throbbing Adventure for quite some time, and no one seems to have taken the time to translate it.

Because of that I'm trying to make it easier to translate by cutting out each dialog, and translating what I know (which is not much, I only know a hundred or so words, and little kanji).

If anyone is willing to help out, even if a little in my mini-translation project, it would be very much appreciated.

http://up02.ayame.jp/up/download/1368406542.zip

Oh also, if not many people are able to help, I'd appriciate if if you'd give me advice on how to go about translating this.

Would it help more if I were to post a couple of the screen caps (just the runes) instead of the whole zip?

Koakuma is the whole reason for all this happening, she's what's making everyone go crazy, not Koishi. She's pretty much a god. And she was involved in the whole plan with Reisen II. The moon bunny was planning on rebelling the whole time.

2m00s
If you look at it ___ly, Marisa Kirisame is a [eccentric] person and is bad at understanding the feelings of normal people.

No strong feelings. No tears came. She felt that getting all angry, would just be a lie.
Her sole thought was, "Ah, surely my heart is dead."
[憤るcan be むずかるor いきどおる、with somewhat different meanings]

2m20s
Copying a protagonist from a book she had read before one day, she made her father's grave,

2m22s
In an exceedingly business-like fashion, she was about to put on her hat when...

2m24s
The hero of righteousness and supressor of evil, Marisa Kirisame, it was her birthday.

2m26s
Marisa continued, with no small number of people who understood...

Hello.

I see you have only translated up to episode 11 and haven't gotten to translating 12 and 13 yet, even though it's been a while. So me and a few friends have decided to begin the translation ourselves. Because none of us appear to be as proficient at Japanese as you, we're wondering if you'd like to take the script, proofread it for any subtile mistakes, sub it, and publish it on your channel? I've done the timing for the dialog already, although it's rough.

We'll be done very soon, and if you accept our offer we can send it to you.

Reply from Flandre Scarlet. My message:
---
Hello.

Because episode 12 and 13 aren't translated yet, me and a group of friends took it into our own hands and started a mini translation project. We're almost done, but we need someone to subtitle it well (i.e. not just CC's but decent annotations) and publish it. Would you like to do that?

Also, do you know any Japanese? Enough at least to proofread it (not necessary but it would be nice).
---

Flandre's message:
---
You mean not usin' Youtube's CC for subtitles ? Sure, why not. Alas, I dunno any japanese. Sorry about that. :/
---

If Flandre's good at annotations and Koishi doesn't reply then I'll wait until we get episode 12 perfected (i.e. all lines transfered over to the final draft pad at http://piratepad.net/XMzYC4chEg)), then I'll send it over to Flandre.

The old translator (SNazerine) is currently occupied.

I'm planning on contacting the translators from Gaku through their Gensokyo.org email to see if they would be willing to lend a hand.
-----
Memo: I'm not sure if this is the correct communication channel to contact the translators, but if you could pass this message on to the relevant people, I would be most grateful.

Koishi's Heart Throbbing Adventure

It has been brought to our attention the translation for episodes 12 and 13 hasn't come out yet, even though it's been a while since. So me and a few friends have decided to create the translation ourselves. (Upon investigation, the the translator who did most of the earlier episodes is currently occupied with other affairs).

Because none of us appear to be as proficient at Japanese to the level of a proper translation group , we're wondering if you'd be willing to take the script and proofread it for translations errors. There are also a few lines which we were unable to translate.

Below you can find links to the video and draft translation.

Tip: go to http://catalog.neet.tv/jp/ and set the order to "bump". If this thread gets near the bottom, bump it. If it hits the bottom and another thread is created, this thread gets deleted.

Also another tip, /jp/ *really* doesn't like outsiders in general (even from other boards on 4chan), so it would not be a good idea to advertise that you aren't from here. This thread is probably a rare exception, but in general keep that in mind if you decide to check out /jp/, you won't be well received, no offence.

I know a handful of people who read japanese fluently, and I've taken the time to ask some of them if they'd like to contribute.
So far I've gotten answer back from one, and although he's familiar with the series, he's not a very big fan of it (due to the gory parts), but glancing over episode 12, he says the translations seem mostly correct.
Here's his answer:

"Unfortunately in this particular case, I have to say you got the wrong guy. I remember seeing this series a while ago, and it's just not for me. I mean I could (and did) glance through it and make sure there was nothing super off (didn't really notice anything major), but that's not the way to get a decent translation out of something. [...] The script alone, it doesn't seem like they're doing anything totally wrong, and that's the only kind of thing I'd feel like I'd have any insight for since I'm not familiar with any of the old translator's choices."

I'll also go ahead and ask VGBoy who is from the same community and has a history of having translated numerous 2ch-threads for tumblr. I'll post his response here when I get it.

Also, I'd totally add the video times to the individual lines but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet (read: been too lazy), so if someone else wants to do it, feel free.
I feel kinda bad for holding up the release like that though, considering the only thing left is to sub the video.

>> No.11069919

Since /jp/ is apparently just as lazy with doing things as I am (no surprise here), I decided to take matters into my own hands and finished adding the timing this morning. Let's just hope this'll be the last Pastebin we'll need to use for Episode 12.
http://pastebin.com/ZSsknBd4

I also wrote to OMGITSBIGFOOT and another person who's uploaded the raw episode 12 and asked them for subbing help. If anyone on /jp/ can do it, that'd be even better.

I-I don't now what I should say to this episode.
It's going to far from the original plot, this time it's just about how crazy koishi became and killed all humans arround.
I mean, people I know thought it was a serie in there koishi kills all other touhous, and I said then "no, it has a story with great potential" but now the autor brings that.. hope the next episodes get deeper again.

Well, in that you guys got some experience? Honestly, so little of your "translations" were salvageable that it's best they weren't produced. But you gotta fail to get better, so just keep trying hard, but also recognise your limits. Study the language more before tackling anything with slang or colloquial language. Just stay to textbook Japanese for now.

The only thing I don't understand is.. we have seen that the moon-people are having planned all this and giving Satori and Koishi their bodies. But in episode 9 at the beginning there clearly are both with Koishi her eye open.
The only plausible explanation is that the beginning of 9 is a story from her past as animals/parasites and just been shown with her actual bodies. This or Koishi has later opened and closed her eye again, but I don't think so.

What the HECK I compared both and the "new" one is worse than the /jp/ pad. And now that I read through the thread, apparently the translator is prancing about saying he has experience and repeating the previous translations were unsalvageable, baging in here, taking other people's work and taking credit. This is the perfect example of why translation requests, regardless of theme, should never be supported.

Well, if the next episodes go untranslated for too long I'll make a new one.

Also, if the /jp/ pad is worse than whatever was published, we can contact Flandre Scarlet and ask him/her to change the video annotations to the better version.
