Why is it that the girls in visual novels nowadays aren't forward with their feelings at all? Does japan really have that much of a hard on for the idea of a shy, bumbling virgin girl? I find it much more attractive when a girl goes after the MC with everything she's got.

I get what you mean. There are girls like that, but it feels more like a gimmick. "This is the 'strong girl' route of this game."

I guess it's to do with the general shift from bad ass women with pointy chins and karate moves to cute young school girls doing ditzy things.
Generally this change is for the better, but it would be nice to have some more proactive characters.

Too bad Kuru Kuru Coeur had a shit protagonist and the X-change games are at best silly. There's not any really great gender switch games out there that I've found.

If I could make the perfect sex change game it would be about an MC bullied by an insanely wealthy ojou-sama into being a trap for her to dress up until one day he comes out of induced sleep at a clinic where they've made a full conversion DNA and all, becomes the ojou's maid and in the end is forced to marry some minor nobleman.

Why has Japan never made such a game?
