If you really want to get used to alcohol, just have a beer every night from now on and work yourself up from that. You have to build up tolerance gradually.

If you're happy sober, though, you should probably just stay that way. I wish I could only drink once a week, but these days, I feel completely empty inside if I go for more than a day without drinking. It's not like there's no point to anything but drinking, but more like, when I stop, I'm reminded of how much time I've wasted, and I strongly wish to forget again.

Yeah I could try that. I'm not too worried about wasting time, I'm obviously not happy that's why I want a new way to get fucked up. I neglected to mention how for the past 3 years or so I smoked dope almost every single day, sometimes a quarter ounce a day, but I lost my job a few months ago and need a more affordable way to get fucked up. I sort of regret wasting all that time, but when I'm stoned things are just cool and interesting and I forget what a loser I am and how much everything sucks. I can take huge rips like a champ because weed tastes good and smells good, to me at least. Contrarily, sometimes just a whiff of alcohol gives me the shivers and makes me feel nauseous. Did you read my post dude? I don't know about where you live but here, a quarter ounce of dank costs about $100, if I'm lucky. I smoked from an eighth to a quarter, nearly every day, for a couple years at least. Alcohol would make for an incredibly cheap way to get fucked up in comparison, which is why I bother trying so hard to like it. Besides I hate it so much it's hard to imagine I could get hooked on it, but stranger things have happened I guess.

I'm unlikeable, socially inept and anxious, shy awkward, and people generally just don't like me. In high school, nerdy kids that had similar interests that I thought were like me would tell me "go away anon! we're NOT your friends! anon NO ONE likes you go away!" and then I would sit in the hallway and eat lunch instead and then a staff member says "anon you can not eat in the hallway" so I would go sit on a toilet in the bathroom every lunch period all of high school. I would go home everyday after school and play single-player video games or fuck about on the internet. It didn't bother me nearly as much that I didn't have friends or people to talk to until I was older.

I don't know how to talk to people in a way that makes them not hate me. Inebriation can make me laugh and smile by myself and I can forget for a while that I'm lonely and sad.

Forgot recommendations:
1554 Belgian Ale is great. Thick as maple syrup, and has a hint of coffee/chocolate.
Mack & Jack makes an IPA that I think they've had on tap since the place opened. It's not my type, usually, but it's got a citrus-ey taste that is great for hot weather.
They've always got some kind of cider on, for people who don't want to get smashed immediately, but can't handle regular beer.
And, the cocktails are amazing. Second best in the city, cheapest, and both the old fashioned and white russian will knock you on your ass without trying.
