Play the Emerald hack that wasn't made by Sanae. It has a working battle frontier and is actually somewhat balanced, making just about any Touhou actually usefull.

The not-Sanae one is Agastya's. It's a 1.8x Touhoumon hack, so it has the new typings, shard evolutions for most characters and a physical/special split like generation 4.

Agastya's Emerald 1.8 and Aichiya's FireRed 1.8 are worth checking out.

Is anyone here still playing these things? I've put my Emerald run on hold till I write a program that will line up captures taken from the emulator so I don't have to do that shit in gimp.

Rumia and Mystia are more suited to Dark type (can't remember if they actually are).

Why would you want to? The NDS games play a lot slower, and GBA hacks will run on almost anything. Some of the Touhoumon hacks also implement a physical/special split like the gen IV games have.
