Currently I have 1CC MoF, IN, and PoFV. Currently the best I have done on an Extra stage is Honest Man's Death.

What do you think should be the next game to work on for a 1cc.

Looking for what would be the next step in difficulty. I have heard that SA and UFO are the two hardest.

I am currently working on 1cc'ing every game on lunatic. I have cleared all the windows games, but I am still missing SoEW and PoDD. it's probably my bad luck that chiyuri is the character I could get along best with, haha. I tihnk I could have cleared with anyone else if I main'd them.
I am planning to LNB all the games afterwards (PoDD excluded. chiyuri NB is the stuff of nightmares). I'm already done with MoF, LLS and MS. Though I'd like to improve those someday.

I want to play Lunatic more, but it feels like I'm not talented enough. Everybody can reach Stage 4 in a few days of practice, and I'm still stuck on Stage 3's after a few months of practice. I end up getting discouraged after consistently making it to Stage 3 for a day, and then coming back later and game overing on Stage 1~2.

I have Ikaruga, DDP: DFK, and Triggerheart Exelica already.

Also, could someone share their opinion on horizontal shooters like Deathsmiles? I might get one of those for a change, but I haven't played one since R-Type Delta on PS1, and I wasn't anywhere as near into shooters back then as I am now.

You start recognizing people once you've been around them for a while.

Also, I have no idea who are "the Jewish guy", or "the master", but I respect you for not namedropping. However, a lot than two people on /jp/ have played for score. The amounts and times differ as times change, currently it's mainly two guys who post scoring updates. But it wasn't always that.
Also, you can play for varying goals as well as you can play with varying difficulty modes. Some people prefer playing Lunatic condition runs over scoring, simply since they don't want to spend so much time memorizing a route, or doing such. Some people like sitting down with the games to form plans and paths, others don't. Having played for a long time doesn't mean one should have lots of good scores.

I think I have reached the edge of my natural talent. I am playing EOSD on Normal Mode, and I rapidly progressed in the first few weeks (this isn't my first Touhou game, HRTP was my first one, and I 1CC'd it on Hard, but the later ones are a different kettle of fish), and got to where I am now. Which is stuck at Hong Meiling, and floating around that level. The level itself is incredibly easy, I have no difficulty, but I just cannot consistently get past Meiling. The worst thing is, I am actually getting WORSE as I play, and now am dying on Demarcation and Night Bird, two spell cards I formally had zero problems with (I actually use Demarcation to get my score from late 200000 up to 600000). Did anyone else have this experience?

There's nothing like the tension when you're 30+ minutes into a game and you now have the chance to get a new high score. One mistake means your entire run is completely fucking worthless, so you better not mess up!

Ten Desires is the latest installment in the Touhou Project series and deserves a high amount of praise for it's difficulty which is accessible to all fans of the series while still maintaining a challenge for those who are veterans and would like to try conditional runs such as "No bomb and no trance" which would fill a veteran with many hours of great visuals, fun patterns, and a wealth of amazing music from one of the best OSTs we've seen yet in Touhou Project thus far. I appreciate Exxelent's attempts at attempting his first Lunatic mode clear on this game since it is an excellent game to attempt such a feat on.

You need a certain degree of skill to be able to play for score. If you're complete trash, you shouldn't be allowed to play for score. I mean really, what's the point of playing for score if you don't even reach the top 50's on a scoreboard?

Don't fret if you're one of the few that have slowbrain, just take it easy doing survival challenges while us savants play for score and feel the true satisfaction of playing an STG.

When I started IN scoring almost two years ago, I was complete shit and reaching 1.8B on Easy Youmu was hard for me. I enjoyed slowly improving myself, so I kept at it.

Now, my skill in the game has improved, but my ideology still hasn't. I play for enjoyment, not some spot on a scoreboard.

Do whatever is the most fun for you. I normally play one until I find myself not having that much fun trying to clear it, or getting frustrated more easily, at which point I switch. I beat my old score in DDP, but didn't even manage to clear the first loop. The worst part is, I had a decent shot at looping it up until 1-5 boss. Then I just decided to play like a retard with slowbrain syndrome and made one mistake after another. NMNB up until that point, two misses to stupid garbage on the boss.

Maybe it's the penultimate one. I've only gotten to Stage 3 once so I might not remember its true final attack.
The one I'm having trouble with is the one where those spheres swing out from the top to the bottom, shooting out the laser that criss-cross, while the boss itself shoots out lines of fireballs.
If we're thinking of the same one, yes, it is sort of Touhou-like, but this one seems more difficult. The closest comparison I could make would be one of Keine's laser spellcards, or Yugi's stage attacks.
I only started playing Samidare yesterday but it's really grown on me, and I can make it to the end of Stage 2 without dying. It's just that one attack that keeps getting me.

I know that I should be having fun, but ever since a few weeks ago, I've just been having no fun at all. The feeling of thinking that I'm improving, only to play like an idiot for a week straight after having nothing but good runs gets frustrating. Since having that run, I managed to die multiple times on the 1-2 midboss, drop the 1-1 chain, mess up the teleporting ships session, and die to the 1-3 boss.

I play for the yuri subtext. Whenever I get angry, which happens a lot, since grind can be frustrating, I go read some nice doujinshi of pairings I like.

You'll get better via playing more, there doesn't need to be any external motivation for that. Just as long as you don't think that you're on top of the summit, you will automatically climb higher. Hard work will always pay off in these games.

However, you need a motivation for playing the games. Mine is liking the gameplay.

Also, if scoring (or any) goals get frustrating after a while, it might be so that you need a refreshing change of shottype, mode or game. If you have been trying to get a Lunatic NB for a longer while, switch to trying out some scoring in Normal or Easy, and vice versa.

I'll try harder next time. I've noticed a significant boost in mood while playing after not drinking coffee. I was able to play for a far longer period of time before I even started to throw a girly fit. Focusing during my practice session was easier too. How do I beat Youmu's nonspells?
I can consistently get to stage 5 with 1-2 deaths but the second I reach Youmu I need to drop bombs like a madman even on her nonspells.
I always lose 4+ lives on Youmu alone and I don't have enough practice on Yuyuko to 1cc her with the lives I have left after.

(normal difficulty, have 1cc'd EoSD and MoF so far)

You can misdirect them so you have to dodge nothing. how to do it: watch a replay.

basically stay above her when she starts shooting her wave, quickly move around her to stand before her and shoot. it's easier to misdirect the 2nd wave of the midboss than it is for the boss one, but I think it worked for that, too. don't quote me on that

the 2nd nonspell is easy. those big shits are aimed around you, so to dodge that, you don't have to move at all. to evade the knives, make a tiny tiny tap to the left or right and you dodge everything. works on all difficulties.
