Aaeru's real life pic

I was one of the big naysayers before it launched, mostly because bullying Japanese publishers into selling games abroad (by showing them we're all pirates) is a terrible idea, and then the Fuwanovel page turned into Time Cube: Richard Stallman Edition.

I do like the site now, though. It looks pretty and having consistent installers for pre-patched games is a great idea.

The only things I still hate are Aaeru and her stupid propaganda (which she has thankfully started to divorce from the site), and the fact that they have no quality control. They have ties with REtrans so shitty machine translated games end up on there.
Also Aaeru supports YouTube translations and translations that use external programs instead of hacking the game. For some reason the Asenheim Project is linked too, and while it is pretty awesome, I don't think it belongs on the site (maybe in a "Links" section or something).

That's Slowbeef-san. He did the programming and coordination work for The Policenauts Translation Project.

He also did a (mostly screenshot) Let's Play of the game. The cool part was that he wrote some bonus posts explaining the technical aspects of how he hacked it. It's interesting if you're into that sort of thing.

Oh, that's pretty neat.
