And yeah, I guess I can see why it might help a little bit with learning your kana, even though I suspect prospective learners will be overly reliant on reading the romaji, but the fact that it doesn't help you with kanji at all makes it kind of useless for anything but the freshest of beginners to Japanese

After you completed a word it should have someone say the word to get an idea of pronunciation as well as something small underneath giving the Japanese to English translation providing the idea of the game is to try and teach people japanese. They could do after so long drop out some of the letters and make it so the player has to translate the letters from the japanese above the word.

What? If you have to type things corresponding to 'our' letters t it kind of kill the purpose of learning. He should make something when you had to type the word WITHOUT seeing the letters, only kanas and/or kanjis.

But then again, by the time I actually manage to read all the kanjis in the opening menu I probably won't need to play that game.
