I went yandere, because while there are ways that I can get her speed to increase by that amount - hard ways, admittedly, there is only one way she can get the Rage skill, which is, for my little sister, a great bonus, because she rarely takes damage due to her great evasion anyway, and when she does catch up to the prodigious speed of the other evolution, that rage is going to make her blast through dungeons even if I just watch.

That's the pros I can list off the top of my head. Granted, however, Kumiromi's bonuses aren't as spectacular as the ones you get from other Gods. However, that stamina bonus makes him the God you want to align with after you've gotten everything you've always wanted.

It still works but you need to use a lot of alcohol. mostly you just buy all the booze at all the inns, then read cursed scrolls of uncurse or scrolls of curse when the only thing in your inventory (including equipped items) is just the beer.

After you throw enough they'll start starving to death, and every time you hit them with a bottle they'll vomit and take massive damage.

You first load it into paint, then save it as character.bmp in 24-but Bitmap format <-this is important.
Then, go to your Elona/ folder then into the graohics/ folder. Copy that file there and overwrite.
If you did this right, and I didn't forget anything else, it should take effect as soon as you get into the game. It works for old saves, new saves, etc.
Mind you, this sprite sheet is for Elona+, so it might not work for regular Elona.

Mutants can really benefit from ether disease, since they can take some diseases that normally remove equipment slots with no penalty. The back and leg diseases in particular are pretty good for that.

Golden knights carrying stuff and PCs being crushed to death by heavy stuff are common artist fodder in japan. I wish I had the seperate sprites for this, since you're stuck with the crappier looking knight if you want to use a couple of these. I created a custom NPC that has over eighty thousand health, has the metal damage reduction, and spams the absorb magic special action. I'm able to safely increase any of my pet's attack skills very fast by having them attack the NPC while I hide behind a wall (so the animation is skipped) with Fetter of Earth equipped.

Ether disease is never a problem. You always get a corruption potion from marrying your pet, and it appears as a blackjack reward very frequently. Adventurers carry them around all the time.

As long as you're good at marrying pets, using Lucky Days effectively, or have Pickpocket, you'll never suffer ether diseases.

Kumiromi is also great for training pickpocket, since stamina is a huge pain to regen otherwise. This is assuming you're playing Plus though. I could see Opatos too, though. Usually the best way to train pickpocket is to steal trees after Hunting missions, and you need a lot of strength to be able to lift most of them when you're starting out.

It isn't complicated, just random. Certain races give certain body parts most of the time, and if the recipient has the normal number of parts it usually doesn't get a new part. That's only a pain with 4 legged donors, since you usually don't want another leg slot. The same sort of goes for skills, where the monster usually gives a certain skill as long as the recipient doesn't have it. If the donor is higher level, you get somewhat of an average between the two engineered pet levels.

When I first started they were 2000+, now at level 6 they only offer 600. Aren't they supposed to, I dunno, increase the stronger you get so that it would actually be worthwhile to do them? Fucking 3 red only pays 1400 on average unless it's a escort/before it's too late when a simple 1 green hunting used to give 2000 or more..

Is this worth a potion of cure corruption?

I'm still using a 2d7 bronze halberd so this is quite the upgrade, and I've been holding onto that potion so I could trade for a nice polearm.

Basically the question is can I get a better deal than this if I hold out a bit longer?

No, he just has a new function. There are more details on the wiki, but Icolle and Gavela can now let you mess with extra limbs on characters. Icolle resets you or your pet's limbs for the cost of your life stat, whether they were added with gene engineering or from Gavela's new limb-add function. The cost is something like 1 per reset, and can reset mutants. You won't get the limbs you lost back by leveling the mutant up gain, so be careful.

Gavela will add random limbs for your life stat. The cost to add limbs on your PC is huge, but you could add 2 extras. That will get you the -10% speed penalty though. The cost is also something like 10% of your life stat per limb, and it's also random. It CAN get you a 2nd body slot though, which even mutants couldn't get otherwise. Pet limbs have a cost of something around 1% of their life, rounded down I think. I'm not sure if you could save scum the same limb, and make a centipede mount with 10 leg slots or something.

Even if you can mince guards whenever, it's a huge pain to use shops since you need to use something with incognito every time. Paying the taxes would probably be cheaper than all the scrolls and disguise kits you'd have to carry around.

On the other hand, if you can pick up the wicked treasure from Noel's quest, you probably can stay above criminal without too much effort and still do whatever you want since it cuts down on karma penalties. It's probably advisable to get that first in case you run into a situation where you might not want to be a criminal, like wandering vendors that you aren't able to kill yet.

Something else I was wondering lately: has anyone thought about a list of things the game has ended up referencing? The wiki has things on the individual pages, but there's no comprehensive list. Lovecraft, Guild Wars and Bioshock end up coming up a lot. Then there would be stuff like, was it nethack for the @ monster and the puppy cave?

Plus expands on it, and I guess that's popular enough to go through as well. Pascal from Shin Megami Tensei is an easy one. I'm not sure if Lityou/Sangetsu is one. Is the Murder Knight a masked rider? Stuff like that.

Well, if you consider all the influence Elona got from ADOM, there are a lot of references from it. The Puppy Cave is one. Even certain mechanics are from it, like DV/PV, and almost all the herbs too.

Its better to just get a single incognito scroll or disguise kit, teleport the guard away incognito into the thieves guild and buy disguise kits from the vendor. From that point on, simply use disguise kits to enter the other guilds anytime you need to learn a skill, always keeping one disguise kit to go into the thieves guild and buy more kits when needed.

For an actual benefit to joining a guild, the Fighters guild is good early on for half price equipment reinforcement costs.

Though mages guild is the best once you know what you're doing and have unlimited money Reserving spell books is mandatory if you ever plan on using spells to an effective degree or just want a decent stock of convenience spells like return 4 dimensional pocket. Also reserving the spell form of incognito replaces the need for stocking on disguise kits and makes -100 karma somewhat manageable.

My advice is geared towards Elona+, where there is little need for the guild trainers at the "unlimited money" phase (getting 999999 gold from clearing dungeons, fishing with lure, player shop ect).

Blessed potions of potential are incredibly easy to get and very effective now, assuming you have the money to invest in magic vendors to at least 50 and buy the potential potions/bless them. Its easy to stay at good or superb in all stats just from buying the potions when they turn up, let alone making them with alchemy as well.

Though from an original Elona/early Elona+ perspective, I suppose not joining a guild at all could be the better option if the player has no intention of using magic.

Around patch 1.15, almost every piece of normal equipment has boosts. Unless they had one already, like wings. The shittier types of dv/pv stuff could potentially be more useful with that, especially at the start with the weapon type bonuses that you can't get anywhere besides the new living wep bonuses.

Actually, it might not be a bad idea to have a page up with info on NPC creation. There is sort of a post on the Elona wiki about it, but the guy didn't exhaustively go over what each NPC option specifically does. It's very hard to tell. Scrolls of ally are so random that it doesn't ever seem to help to bless them. Just from personal experience, I'd tell you no. That's probably hundreds if not thousands of uses including ones that I scummed.

One of the nice things about Plus is that you don't have to rely on those anymore once you hit South Tyris.

One sufficiently strong melee attack can make it die to its own acid puddles. I know a bronze halberd on a level 2 or 3 warrior was enough to complete that relatively easy.

Actually it's a random monster that will try to ravage your garden. Their appearance rate depends on how high your gardening is. Not sure if I understood the text right, but I think the higher your gardening the more likely they'll appear.

Yup. The better your gardening/anatomy the better the crops/corpses. And I believe the weight of the corpse contributes a bit on their quality now.

Some more things you didn't include:
The compost on your garden has a use now. You can leave your non-biodegradable food and shit on it to turn it into an item that has a function similar to Kumiromi's god gem.

There's a new character added, but god knows where that guy is or what he/she does. No information at all aside from its announcement.

New skill added: Gentle touch(?) 「愛撫の手」
You can use it on town NPCs, your pets and livestock(?).
Depending on the effectiveness of your skill and your relation to who you touched they could either get angry at you or receive a one turn boost. If you kill a livestock after brushing them with this skill, its corpse will be of higher quality.

So, for the new location. The NPCs are all friendly, so it seems like it's set up so you can recruit them easier, although it would still have to be with gifts/tokens since they don't have much to say. You can kill them, and they drop stuff like they were the same bosses. Nothing can be dominated, but didn't try monster balls. Looks like it's mostly anything that disappears (plotline deaths mostly) at a certain point in the game, with the exception of Pael's undiseased mother.

The new NPC is there too, with a new unique scythe (that he doesn't drop when he dies). The wep itself has resist bleeding, and rather high bonus damage but nothing else noteworthy. 2d12+40 or so.

I'm not sure if it's unique or not, but there's a "big brush" that probably helps with the rubbing skill.

Leveled up and got the skill. The icon gives me the impression its CHR based but wasn't it supposed to be DEX? Odd.

I apparently got the big brush from somewhere, probably from harvesting an unknown plant as I wasn't paying attention. Using rub on a ranched pet with this in the inventory plays a sound and the npcs get that music note above their head so it presumably has a better effect.

My farm was actually filled with all manner of enemies but all of them were rather weak even with 148 gardening. I fear generic gods will somehow spawn in my farm at some point, as they tend to appear everywhere these days, we will see.

What's a relatively easy way to raise speed?

I'm at level 9 and have had around 110 speed for quite a while thanks to me finding two glass engagement rings very early on. But I feel like I could be going faster.

Riding a little girl with around the same speed doesn't help, rather it actually reduced my speed while burdened and equal my speed while non-burdened. I use two handed as well so accuracy was shot to shit.

For 60 small medals you can get a hermes blood for 4 or 8 blessed. Also wishing for a pair of Seven League boots gives you +10 speed (hidden). There is also the speed feats.

Elona's slowest start is the harshest part about it.

Generally, the first thing you want to work on is a decent sustainable income and getting skills you want.

In the very beginning, it would be unlikely for you to complete any dungeon so you should limit yourself to fighting on the first floor of the puppy cave and running away from kobolds. The clear out the thieves hideout mission in Vernis is also one of the first missions you'll likely be able to clear. Avoid the putit extermination mission. You will very likely be melted by slimes.

On the first floor of the puppy cave, prioritize scrolls, potions, spellbooks, and rods as well as any monster parts monsters drop. Don't bother bringing back equipment to the town as the player character sells equipment for crap.

Everything needs to be identified before you'll be able to sell it for anything. However after you identify something once, you'll be able to identify it on sight every time you see it from there on and won't need to identify it again to sell it. In terms of identification priority, one of each type of monster part>scrolls>potions>rods>spellbooks.

Once you identify your first scroll of oracle, you're fairly set as they're somewhat common in the puppy cave, are relatively useless, and sale quite decently even in the early game.

Also for food, there's a bunch of free stuff in Vernis, you can eat the stick breads and the rations without picking them up. You can also bash(press "b") the fruit trees for fruit as well.

For non perishable food, you should explore the wilderness outside Vernis and scavenge chestnuts, api nuts, and healthy leaves. Wild edible plants still rot I think.

Also, you might want to consider choosing a God by going to the Truce Grounds north of Palmia. Yacatect is a good choice for beginner's as she causes an immense increase in monster part drops.

Depends on what you mean by "superior". Plus has redone portraits from normal Elona, but the portrait size is different. This one is for normal Elona, since there are more rows for males inserted now. Also for skills you need to acquire platinum which comes from completing quests in town, you can do them by looking at the quest board and talking to NPCs.

Early on, avoid hunting quests and quests you aren't sure you can do. Harvest time quests are excellent low level quests which trains a lot of things early on. Party Time quests require you to have the performer skill to actually do them, party time quests are one of the few very reliable sources of income in Elona however they've been fairly nerfed in Elona+, they're still decent at making gold if your performer skill is high though. Generally, if you have the item for an item request quest, take the mission. Quests that require cooked foods require that you know cooking and even then are pretty tricky since you can't control the level of the food you cook precisely.

Regarding what skills you should get first, there are a lot of choices. Though I can't give advice on what you should get first without knowing the skills you already have due to starting class/race and your playstyle.

Well weight lifting for carrying stuff. It's one of the few skills you want to be training constantly throughout the entire game as it's not possible to just grind it like most others.

Traveling also became very useful with the advent of Elona+ as it was updated to train every single one of your stats and skills the more you travel on the world map. It's also one of the only two skills that trains speed.

Sense quality is a must for dungeon delvers as it pretty much allows you to sift the artifacts from the crap equipment you see lying around in most dungeons.

Riding is also a high priority to get early on as it's also another skill you can't really grind. Having the speed of a good mount instead of your normal speed helps your survivability immensely.

Oh yeah, save your skill points. Those give potential boosts as well as regular boosts to your skills.

Boosting the potential of any of your skills becomes much more expensive the higher level the skill is. So it's much more efficient and cost saving to use skill points earned from leveling on high leveled skills later on than immediately.

Also what feats did you get? Feats are another important matter. Generally the best ones are considered cheer, the stamina feats, and shield bash if you use a shield. Dimensional move and fire breath are great early game feats as well since they provide cheap escape and wide AoE options. Be careful to not set stuff you want on fire with the fire breath though.

Trainers in different towns offer different skills. The closest town with a trainer that offers it is Yowyn which is southeast of Vernis and not too far. Yowyn also teaches riding and has horses for sale so keep that in mind. It also has more harvest time quests than other towns. You can also just eat the vegetables straight off the ground there as well.

Too raise weightlifting, you need to play normally at burdened status which is when you're carrying more than 50% of your carrying capacity. Going into burdened! status or overweight status does not cause it to train any faster either.

Also, you need 15 platinum coins to buy your first skill and 3 more is added to the cost for every skill after that capped at 50. So the first costs 15, second 18, third 21, and so on until it hits 50.

If you want custom god pet stuff, you might be in luck since there's tons of it. It depends on which one and which evolution, though. There's a pet evolution page up on the wikia site that has the sprites of all the evolved god pets if you don't know what you're aiming for.

As for the monster girl alternates sheet, might as well post it tonight and let people pick up on the errors while I sleep. I think I got rid of the bobblehead doubles. And I'm replacing AS MANY OF THE BOBBLEHEADS AS I CAN. It's pretty easy to chop those out if you don't want to change them. The dragon sprite is a new favorite, and there are a couple of other new sprites I really like. Oh, and the mouse sprite on the above sheet is still misaligned, so the extra black on this sheet is because of that.

Wizard has arguably the hardest early game of all the classes. Also you shouldn't even use magic unless you have 90% cast rate (cap before spell levels). If you are gonna try a mage character start as a Warmage, since they have a 5% increased cast chance and more physical combat skills. You also shouldn't be using a shield (-12%), riding (spell level dependent), dual wielding, or wearing medium armor (>15s).
