Is ZUN really a musical genius, or just a thief from various artists?

>> No.10699848

ZUN stole all his music from IOSYS. I know that because i'm a touhou expert

>> No.10699856

You're saying it like those things are different. It's more of a "If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants." kind of thing, really...

Please don't misuse Speedwagon pictures.

Some of these are iffy, but others are pretty damn close.

It makes sense that ZUN drew inspiration from old arcade games, particularly those by Zuntata, though it depends where you draw the line between "inspiration" and "plagiarism".

Also, from the Highly Responsive to Prayers music descriptions:
>the Legend of KAGE
>Before I did this song, I was making simple transcriptions (mostly from games) 60% of the time, and creating original pieces about 30% of the time. But after that, I stopped making the transcriptions altogether (because it was a pain). Though, that's not to say I never ever want to make them. By the way, what's the other 10%? (^^;

Not sure if this particular track is actually from The Legend of Kage. I did play the NES version but I don't remember much about it. I just remember getting pissed off at all the throwing stars everywhere.

Don't really care, to be honest. I really like his music and that is enough for me.

I know dude, it's like every note in his songs has already been used by someone else. Even some combinations of several notes, imagine that!

Saying that a musical work is "stolen" is pretty much like saying this message is stolen. I'm just putting together words and phrases made up by different people of which nobody is me, but I still didn't steal (or copy) this post from anyone.

doesnt every song have the same four chords in it or something

there are like 12 notes or something they dont even go all the way through the alphebet

obvs you can only do so many things that sound good so little ditties are going to be used by billions of ppl indapendently of each other

in fact probably every little thing you can link and listen to a part of and say `that sounds like satori maiden' was probably already done in like 1753 by beethoven

not really

in fact ive owned a few keyboards and i really wanted to learn how to play
but i never got good at it
i think i might be tone deaf or not able to follow rhythm

now i have a keyboard locked away in my room somewhere and its all dusty

it makes me sad to think about

>>10700167
I doubt you're tone deaf. Can you notice the pitch change when a car accelerates or when you hum? If so, you're not tone deaf. Can't speak about rhythm though.
You should break out that keyboard and just youtube a few basic keyboard tutorials. (Possibly anime/games you enjoy to keep you motivated)
