You mean the Toyota Carolla red GT

>mfw I almost bought a $600 blue "Trueno" from some old lady and all I had to do was fix an oil pan that was leaking from it

>mfw another Initial D and race fan bought it under my nose and totaled it within a month

Initial D is all right, but everybody who wants one of those cars after watching it thinks they can drive like Takumi. They do realize that cars is almost 30 years old now, right?

Wow, can you be any more pleb?
Look at the placement of the fuel door, its a Porsche 944.
An MR2 looks nothing like that anyways, you're a real idiot!
Go ahead, I'll allow you to praise me now.

Because newer cars are more expensive, have more shit ready to break, heavier, arguably less reliable, and in many opinions look worse.

New cars don't break if you change them every 3 years and if they do, they're on warranty.
>many opinions look worse
They're just different, more modern.

Not suprising really. Considering they'd stance their car out that much in the first place just shows they're going for attention. Pretty not-/jp/.

I would still vote for a beat up Rabbit though. Perfect amount of creepy, cheap, and not popular to fit a /jp/er with $500 to spend on a car.

That's a nice car you have, I'd really like to own a 944 Turbo one day, but I'm broke and going to college, so decent cars are out of my reach right now. I haven't even browsed /o/ in the last 6 months.

I've been NEETing pretty much constantly since highschool, I tried and failed a couple of jobs here and there.

I just buy/sell car shit online so I can afford to blow money on my own car.

But yeah an mk1 would fit the bill well if they didn't all break $2500 in my area

>> No.10694155

>>10694070
I do browse /o/ a bit, but the majority of it is just tripfag circlejerks and 16 year old kids asking about what 2000 dollar car is the best. I didn't really want a GT86/FR-S...but I was selling my previous car and was offered significantly over book value and more than private party value at this Toyota dealership so I just said "why not" and got one on a whim. It's a blast driving it and I don't feel too bad about spending money on it.

For the same reason you Europeans still live in old buildings. It doesn't need to be replaced. Plus, any asshole can go and buy a new car, but someone who really enjoys cars and getting their hands dirty on it will chose an old car most of the time. Personally I'd rather have a 90s car and just do the maintenance myself and keep it in good shape. It's such a blind consumerist thing to wildly spend your money on cars. A car's value isn't always in it's price to some people.

new != nice
