Why do you think /jp/ has an organized shitposting element?

Why /jp/? No other board suffers from this problem as far as I know.

>> No.10693030

I'm a solo shitposter.

>> No.10693026

Because /jp/ doesn't have a whole lot to talk about. "Otaku culture" is pretty vague and there are only so many threads you can have about touhous before getting bored.

Add that in with the various shitposting circles that plague the place and you have a hotbed for shitposting.

I'd be willing to wager most boards have a significant contingent of shitposters whether or not they do it intentionally.

/jp/ is the board with the most paranoid schizophrenics as well as elitists, trolls, shut-in NEETs and internet experts.

We should team up and start our own crew

Eventually we'll be one of those site-wide menaces.

You saying this for the /jp/ general created in s4s?

>> No.10693055

Because there are Steam groups, Formspring circles, IRC rooms, message boards, Twitter friends, and other spin-off communities, complete with their own in-jokes and hobbies. Obviously some of them are going to do things on /jp/ and then laugh about it together over a tweet and a game of Battlefield 4.

Are there warring shitposter factions? You know, like Freedom vs Duty.

>> No.10693062

>>10693059

I don't know who they are but I consider myself at war with a certain group of people, it's the reason that I shitpost.

>> No.10693064

I miss the old school shitposters who did it for laughs and were very much a part of the board.

I don't like the new teenage shitposters who smoke drugs and read Nietzsche and think they're doing some sort of ironic artform, like aristocrats interacting with peasants.

>> No.10693066

>>10693059
Yes, actually. They have their own little bullshit drama episodes.

I think usually they try to stay out of eachother's way though, not to mention sometimes they have double-agents who spread shit from one toilet to another.

You can't say other boards don't have shitposters unless you're assuming their posters are all naturally stupid. And this is not a safe assumption for most of them, save maybe /pol/.

Every time I am on /a/, for example, I see shitposters reposting the same old trolls, targetting specific series with hate spam, inciting fandoms against each other and so on. They're just more blatant on /jp/ because here they can't troll with their usual methods and latch onto on-topic material, so they need to resort to meta and simply being as obnoxious as possible.

Oh, wait, I said "they", when I should have said "you". Or did you honestly think this thread was in any way acceptable?

tokiko actually seems pretty amusing when he's described like this. anyone who acts like an aristocrat interacting with peasant /jp/ers has to be a swell person.

>> No.10693066,3 [INTERNAL]

>>10693059
No, all the shitposters work alone. They're too socially inept to work together.

Also /jp/ is unique in that 90% the native users mainly hang around to shitpost/blow up the board. The outsiders stopped arriving in 2010 (they're too busy shitposting on their own boards to care about /jp/).

The rest are either touhou fans from Shrinemaiden.org who stay confined in their touhou generals, or idol nerds who stay confined in their idol group generals.
