Naruto was my gateway into the world of weebs. Used to read the Shonen Jump they released in America in school with my friends. Still have the first 10 or so issues somewhere, a few popularish kids used to call it a coloring book.

Eventually it led me to looking online for more stuff and I found shitty .rmvb's of Naruto and then saw there were many other subtitled animes out there waiting to be downloaded. Then one thing led to another and I ended up on /jp/.

Naruto (just like Halo) is popular for a reason.

1) The shonen fight genre historical has always been the most popular.
2) Naruto is arguably the best show from the said genre. Let me elaborate:

Dragon ball = 30 good episodes, and 100 episodes of shit.
DBZ = Snail pacing.
Yuyu Hakusho = One mediocre season after another till it got to the dark tournament (but by that time it was too late to save the show).
One Piece = Looney tunes with fighting.
Bleach = 80% Yuyu Hakusho copypasta, 10% Naruto copypasta, and 10% DBZ copypasta. I know all shonen fight shows are cliche, but Bleach takes it to a whole new level.

In the same way that Halo is the overall, best FPS. Naruto is the overall best shonen fight animu. Hence the reason why it got a huge following both in Japan and America.

You're wrong about Dragon ball, the episodes were all consistent and good/bad, whatever your opinion.
DBZ: snail pacing, sure, it was only the classic fighting anime that intrigued children worldwide for years.
Yuyu Hakusho: Togashi is all about tournaments, the rest of it is filler. You obviously enjoy the filler, that's just your level.
One Piece: classic shounen, a combination of fighting, humor, easy to understand drama.
Bleach: what the heck does one main character who is everything, have anything to do with tournament anime? Absolutely nothing. You know absolutely nothing. Go watch shit or lurk /a/ more before you open your stupid virgin mouth again.
