I can't say I would mind. Generally I would say "great now these male characters are going to have ridiculously large harems in fan content." ect... But really, this already happens with Rinnosuke all the time. My issue would be with cannon relationships/crushes forming.

I don't think it would affect anything. I seriously doubt ZUN would add any romance to the series or even address the fact that they're boys when all the other characters are girls.

The most it would be is something like:

Then after that John would just hang out and be there and act and talk like all the other Touhous.
