I've stayed in Capsule hotels a number of times on my trips to Japan. They aren't bad at all. I once stayed in one in Akihabara for 2 weeks which was fine because erryday I was out shopping the entire day or if I really wanted a place to relax I went to an Internet Cafe and played PS2 games like True Love 3.

The one in Akihabara that I stayed at also had a very nice public bath too. The only thing that worried me was they didn't have a really secure place to store all your stuff. The lockers were tiny but they let me keep the stuff in a lobby shelf, which was unsecured, but no one ever took or stole anything over that 2 week period, so I guess it was fine.

If you are a TruWeeaboo, you will stay in one at least once for experience sake.

Actually the place I stayed at, you can't even stay the whole time. You had to check out by like 10am or something like that and couldn't be in your pod until like 2 or 3pm because that was the cleaning period. Which kind of sucks that you basically don't have a place to lie down during those hours, but like I said, it didn't matter to me because I was out all day anyways and also Internet or Manga cafes were good relaxing spots.

Yeah, you can. They don't really care what you are doing as long as you are paying. Some cafes have reclining chairs even and showers to use. It's also usually all you can drink soda bar. You can order food and have it delivered right to your cubical even. Internet cafes in Japan are truly amazing.

Also, depending on the cafe, they can be cheaper than a capsule hotel if you can handle sleeping in a chair (which I can't), but I remember one place had an overnight special that started at 11pm and went to 8am for like only $13 or $14 something like that, can't remember exactly.

I have one. I'm talking about the minimum theoretical size to be comfortable in those types of accommodation.

A shower and toilet are essential. It would be a hassle to keep going out for food. A bed would double as a computer chair, etc.

Those single units are not every big and you can't store much in them.

There are no niggers in Japan...

I watched this video about a foreigner student in Japan. He told that one day he parked his bycicle to go shopping or whatever and chained it. But he left the key in the chain.

So, when he came back, the bike was no there anymore.
He got pissed and blamed himself for not taking the key with him.
The next day, when he was already thinking on buying another bike he passed by the same parking lot and saw his bike there again with the chain and the key.

He said he doesn't know what happened but was glad everything went better than expected.

I like to think that thief was a boy whose loli ojousama was in danger... So, he grabbed the bike to get to her as fast as possible.

But they're cosy. This is a Formule One room. They're basically like hospital rooms or prison cells, but they're cheap and have everything you need. Unless you're in the city for pleasure instead of business (e.g. you're on holiday), then there's not much point in wasting money on a luxury hotel.
