Anyone else feels like ZUN is distancing himself from his initial philosophy regarding music production? UFO and TD's soundtrack felt different from the usual. In fact, the sounds feel more "plastic" since MoF. Maybe it's just my old engine preference acting up, but I have no idea how that would affect music. Don't get me wrong, most songs are still great.

The earlier music is either more "catchy" or more "beautiful" (depending on the song), but the later music sounds better produced (however, it's to the point where it's a little distracting).
It reminds me of when pop groups go from making enjoyable music everyone likes to weird alternative stuff. There may be more instruments and effects and more going on, but there's a reason people usually prefer their earlier stuff.
