Reimu doesn't do anything to youkai other than play with them for a bit. Mima has been the only exception that I know of, I guess since she was so dangerous.

About fucking time. I'm sick and tired of that bland bitch. It's about time we get a character that has some personality. Reimu has one but it's not the best and Sunny isn't the second main heroine. She should be promoted already and give the third main heroine slot to someone more deserving than Marisa. It's about time we get Ran as a playable character, considering she is Yukari's shikigami and has to act in her name, she probably gets in danmaku fights with powerful youkai. Of course I'm dreaming, any character would do, just as long as it's not Marisa Kiri-samey.

Reimu "exterminates" youkai to help them, being exterminated is a must once in a while for youkai. If a human lives having a body, a youkai lives having emotions, youkai in order to live have to scare humans and be exterminated, that's why a lot of yamabiko committed suicide when nobody shouted at mountains for the echo, because they didn't have any goal anymore, that's why Reimu doesn't support Byakuren's plan, because that's also bad for youkai themselves.
