I can't really talk because I just happened to see this thread as I'm getting ready for work but I got my MDD Mirai doll about a week ago. She's so gorgeous! I went ahead yesterday and also bought a head cap and body stocking from Volks and also another dress, a pair of shoes, a chocker, and a pair of lace stockings from Dollmore. (I also found a stand for her from a local arts and crafts store) Anyways, that's all I'm going to be buying for her for a while because I've already spent a good amount of money.

Yeah there is a little bit of hot glue (lol) holding the ribbons but they do come undone. My problem now is the braided ponytails are working their way loose. There is a ring underneath the ribbons as you are probably now aware that holds the brains in place. But the hair will work it's way lose regardless. I am gonna get those little rubber bands and learn how to braid so I can redo them at some point. Otherwise it loosk a bit tatty with the briads coming undone. I want some new wigs too anyhow.

yeah, I've noticed that too, thankfully she just has a few loose hairs freed from her left braid. I really do wish I could post pictures of her in her strawberry kiss dress, she's just so cute! One thing to take note of. When you remove her head (Which you will do at some stage). It pulls off in an upwards direction. If you look inside her head you will see it's just a ridged pushthru. I made the mistake of not looking to see how it was attached and tried to 'bend' it while pulling on her head. Something went 'ping' and a metal pin and spring mechanism all came apart and it was HELL and I do mean HELL to get the pin back and to stay in while pushing the spring back down. Fingers were red raw and shoulder ached. So be careful when taking the head off if and when you do. I heard that you can use an elestic band though if that part gets damaged. But not ideal.

I've taken her head off a couple times already but I didn't notice that there would be any problems of that sort. (good lord) All I know is, from the picture in the little booklet, that you're not supposed to pull straight up, but I think more of a measured to the side and down motion.

Yeah I was confused by those pictures too. Oh well anyhow. I'll try to avoid taking her head off if I can. I find it easier to pull her torso apart when fitting awkward dresses. I am trying to work out how they fit those kinds of clothes on resin 'strung' ball jointed dolls.

God, the couple times I've put her outfits on so far (well first I took her head off to make it easier) the vivid image of breaking one of her arms flashes through my head. I have a 12" G.I. Joe whose arm I broke off years ago trying to put one of his outfits on, and apparently I was simply putting his shirts on wrong (pulling the arms back) but it seems I haven't gotten over it.
