What are the BEST circles / artists / releases that a noob needs to read right off the bat?

When I see this, I do indeed cringe.
But not because of the cliched lines and story -- were something like this to happen in a VN between the protagonist and moe character B, I'm sure most people here would be all over it.
I'm cringing because of the brazen character rapage.

But then again, this is a doujin. What else are they for.

Dioxin isn't that bad, you faggots. I'm positive that all of you guys are just trying to get on the bandwagon, and are putting in actual effort to hate a doujin. A lot of the jokes suck, or rely too much on wordplay. But that doesn't mean that they're completely devoid of humor. I laughed at the chopstick one, but it was a pity they revealed the joke by basically explaining it in the third panel.

maybe it's because I don't enter every Touhou thread that pops up on this board, but I've rarely seen people complaining about Dioxin stuff.
It has no place in a thread that was made to focus of doujins that hove closer to the canon, but I personally usually find his comics pretty funny. Why do you use the word "all" when you see one person say something?

Every single Touhou doujin topic uses "LOL, I LIKE DIOXIN" as a troll, since Dioxin's stuff is typically best enjoyed by morons that think Cirno is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Dioxin trolling really game into full view when this diagram was posted near the beginning of /jp/. Which is a bit awkward, since the guy that made it actually said he didn't hate Dioxin either, just when people automatically assume it's the best doujin without reading any of the other ones.

Even though it's no longer being updated, I'd recommend go to this site freewebs. com/aortic/touhou.htm and go down the list to see some of the older ones and what interest you. It's the old website of GakuGaku Touhou section

Also try PocketHouse's old blog entries, it used to "spotlight" certain doujins and you can see some samples and short description

I thought it would be pretty cool since it could be totally over the top and shit but there's like two fights in the whole thing. Not even delicious China stomach could make me stomach it any further. Also, it confused me in parts. I don't know if I was just tired when I read it or if it was a poor translation.
