Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, and then a fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs, or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not?

Well, I actually enjoyed Gensokyo-mans story. It was a different era, back then. It was great to see so many true /jp/ people come together and unite simply to read that. Even though everyone was aware that it was shitty fanfiction, simply being able to share it with all of your comrades made the experience "good." This is ignoring, of course, all the dissenters, but I don't remember them being an overwhelming majority. Still, when the phenomena was new, this unity and simple hearted fun was prevalent. I thought it (and the subsequent stories before everything started to change) was good times.

Currently, you have a bunch of trash who frequent shitsites like "spacebattles" and fanfiction.net trying their hand at writing touhou fanfiction. They have invaded en masse, refuse to adapt to any sort of culture; instead warping it to their own. Their stories are, at absolute best, the epitome of mediocrity, except they are dead serious about it.
