Saya no Uta is a very cleverly disguised pedophile game. It is pretentious as fuck. Don't be fooled. It is nothing more than an adult student fucking a by all means underage little child. It tries to hide this fact by indroducing an even older man trying to rape Saya making it seem wrong and simultaniously right that the protagonist fucks her. The protagonist is trapped in his own world where is primary focus is the little girl Saya. Just like any other pedophile he is obsessed with her since apparently she is the only desireable thing in a world seemingly made of agony. However this condition only exists in his mind. While the normal outsiders are baffled by his behaviour he justifies it by them being the non-understanding ones. He never tries to explain his condition because he knows that he is fucked up. And him fucking a little girl is acceptable to him because of the pretense of love. This love is strictly superficial since he does not love her because of her character but only due to her childish looks. The only looks he can find attractive by the way.

After Saya was nearly fucked by an even older man she goes from crying to sucking the cock of the protagonist. This is the ultimate desire of the pedophile love from an underage child expressed as sucking cock.

That's not it at all. He's going crazy. The VN is interesting because you get to explore his psychology and see how he eventually caves in. At the beginning he struggles to stay close to his friends despite their distorted forms, but that resolve eventually crumbles.

The theme of a beautiful girl in such a twisted world is touching. What's interesting is how it's subverted. He's a sympathetic villain and I think that's what appeals to people. It's more than appearances. Saya is the only right thing in his life; she is a symbol of hope, beauty, love, and innocence. The whole VN rests on whether or not you think he's justified in his actions.

He has some of the most depth compared to other characters, particularly that one bitch that got turned into a slave. Fuck her.

Its somewhat subtle but rape actually affected her and made more vile. You may notice how she gets noticeable gloomier and creepier after that.
Again I'm not sure you can say its completely her fault. She's not human and she had no way to comprehend human reaction just by observing Fuminori condition. Neither she should really care for any human in particular in first place.

If yes, when Fuminori is talking to Saya about the final confrontation with Koji, he says he might not be able to kill Koji in a straight-up fight.
Saya suggests that she do it, but Fuminori says she probably wont be able to handle a fully grown man after what happened with the artist dude.
Saya is kinda dejected and agrees, so I guess so.

Since in the ending where Koji dies, he was taken by surprise by and killed by Saya while he was fighting Fuminori.
So I guess yes, she relies on fear and surprise rather than physical strength.

I never said masterpiece, I said it's classic. Lots of classics are shitty, but they are more of supporting pillars for your view and other works. Personally for example I hate Tolkien because of his food porn and boring writing, but he's classic to fantasy nonetheless. Saya is a classic to psychological horror and its fairly solid at that.

Started reading this just now. And yeah, I know I'm slow as fuck. The reason why I ignored this for so long is mainly because of the fanbase. I've read most of NitroPlus's other works though.

I can definitely say that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Not often I encounter VNs like this, mostly because of the Japanese having a tendency to go on for hours with characterization before anything interesting happens.

I'm aware that ALttP is better than LA in pretty much everything, though.

My only problem with ALttP is that there isn't a perfect version of the game. In the original, you lose the shovel after getting the ocarina. Why is that? The shovel was fun! If there wasn't enough space in the inventory, they could have just removed one of the two invencibility items (both items did almost the same thing) or one of the useless medal things.

In the port, you can finally keep the shovel. But Link's voice is fucking annoying and doesn't fit the character. He sounds like a little kid even though he clearly isn't one in the artwork.

Even if there was a perfect version, I still like the three Gameboy zeldas better. Dat huge sword! It's so satisfying to use!

Here are my opinions
>Both Saya and Fuminori are shallow, insane and evil. Sympathy or not, none of the shit they did throughout the story is even close to okay.
>Yoh was extremely unlucky. She's probably the closest thing to "innocent" in this entire VN, and she got the worst treatment.
>Koji's girlfriend was a dumb cunt. She knows something horrible is looming in the house and that Fuminori probably isn't in, but she keeps on walking as if she has anything productive to do in there.
>Ryoko was crazy, but at least she wasn't a completely terrible person, just heavily jaded.
>Koji was probably the most sympathetic character, the more classic protagonist for a story.
Anyone who disagrees is wrong.
