I think you're a little confused. Yasu never actually killed anyone. She just convinced others to form fake murder mysteries to surprise Battler, and partway through something went wrong, due to Rudolf, Kyrie and Battler taking advantage of the situation to perform actual murders. Read episode 7 again. Properly this time. Also, "our confessions" says this repeatedly in the plainest of terms.

Not him, but what is showed in the tea party of EP 7 was never said to be the truth.of Rokkenjima Prime. It makes sense on some levels, but you forget both the reaction of Ange in EP 8 (which is decidedly not the same as it would be if she just learned that her parents were the killer) and the Knox's law 'It is forbidden for the detective to be the culprit.'

Battler is the detective during the first half of the novels, where it counts.
