I think 4chan's stability has increased drastically over the past few years. There were always times when the host would drop the site, or the site would get randomly brought down by some group's attack, or shit would just go down for no apparent reason and things were generally very, very slow. The difference in site responsiveness now compared to years ago is definitely an improvement.
