you will not be getting any 'strikes' in the first place, anyway. you get a 'strike' when a copyright holder sends your ISP a notice that they've seen someone with your IP downloading a torrent with their stuff in it.

in the past the ISP just forwarded these letters to you, then you did nothing because there's no legal basis. now they are making ISPs tell you to please buy things. if you've never gotten one of those letters you won't be getting one of these 'strikes.'

"Property" and "ownership" are analogies. You haven't found this huge smoking gun in people's rhetoric. There's a reason it's "intellectual property" and not "property".

In admittedly less buzzwordy terms, copyright is fine. It's just that copyright should legally belong to the author and no third party should be given a monopoly on copyrights or copyrights-by-proxy (e.g. through strict contracts on what authors can do with their own work).

Still, the transferral of copyrighted data shouldn't be illegal. I think it's immoral if someone worked hard on something to try and earn money from it and you take it for free (even if you have no intent to redistribute or sell it and wouldn't have bought it anyway), but it shouldn't be illegal. The only big American company I can think of that is cool with this is Lucasfilm.
