Why hasn't anyone fixed the English patches for Touhou games yet? The old ones are complete misleading when it comes to characters' personalities.

All you'd need to do is copy the translations on Touhou Wiki and insert them into the games. I'd do it myself but I have no programming experience whatsoever.

Of course it's Touhou, so there aren't many real problems. Fanworks keep everything in check, and Japan knows their source material. But the translations themselves are still a clusterfuck.

Trust me, I learnt Hiragana and Katakana in 3 weeks, and I'm a bone idol neckbeard who's brain has not been used in the three years since I left school. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Plus, the layout is more intuitive. You have 5 vowels at the beginning, and then everything after is just those vowels attached to a consonant. In English, the vowels are scattered throughout the alphabet, and where letters are placed is completely arbitrary.

If you're talking about Kanji, that's late-game shit.

Grammar can be quite difficult at times, and I really think that the only way to really build upon it is to just read a fuckton of shit and try to apply grammatical terms and break everything down, because I don't think that after reading something like DOBJ - Basic through Advanced you'd retain much of it.

Instead just put down notes for everything while reading Tae Kim, so you can easily CTRL-F said rule whenever it comes up or go through the clozed anki deck.

a) For a normal Japanese life you need to know about 3000. They're fairly easy to remember, since many of them are simple. The harder ones, its better to use stroke order, it helps you remember. You'll never learn them all, there's around 80,000, but the 3000 in normal use are the ones you would need to learn. By the time you get to Kanji, you'll probably be used to learning new characters, so your brain will have adapted.
