To most Westerners, a "dating sim" is just a visual novel where a relationship occurs.

Newgrounds Flash games are the closest thing to a real dating sim most people have played.

I want the other Princess Maker games to be translated, not just 5 or whatever they're working on now.

I guess it would be difficult for most hobbyists, though. Apparently PM2 took a lot of effort because they wrote the game in x86 assembly and a custom interpreted language.

Was the nudity available by default in the Japanese version? I remember in the English translation you had to use a cheat and the "Un-Dress" item, though I always assumed those cheats were mostly unique to the English version (since there were English-specific software tests and reused/custom sprites).

I find it strange really, cause they censored some of the vacation pics for the English version but left the un-dress in.
Either way it was in the Japanese version to begin with.

They do change your daughter's sprite, but only if she's nude (or I think in some of the more revealing outfits).

Reading up on the drama behind the translation, I think they understood the controversy a game like this could cause, but retained (or added) some cheats for the ped- for the people who respect the original work.

Breast enlargement pills affect her breasts in all the outfits, thing is there are only two different sprites and it's not really noticeable in the winter outfit.
Her weight also changes the sprite slightly.

The only time she can be considered topless and underage is if she's wearing the Siren Robe (15+) has large breasts and is overweight.

Are you sure? I remember playing this and I was certain there are three, at least when she's older. I never noticed any change in any of the outfits without cleavage, though I assumed that was just because of how the dresses were overlaid. Maybe it was subtle so I missed it.

Now I have to play this game again.
