Well, since this is going to be Muv Luv, we decided that the start date will be 1958, a time when people were already going into space/the moon.

The lunar war will be a bunch of events, and then the shit really starts when the BETA land on earth, which we have successfully scripted already.

There will be tons and tons of new techs, both for TSFs and for technology past WWII.

I'm curious, how does the arrival of the BETA play out? Is it like a Dark Knights/Demon Army type deal where the nations need to team up mid-scenario against a super powerful AI?
Because if so, that's really awesome. I always wanted to see something like that for a Paradox game, and having it be Muv-Luv themed is icing on the cake.

Anyways, don't expect a release too soon, the longest part of making this particular mod is the fact that we have to make events to span from 1958 to about 2010.

There is currently two people involved in this project, but we might request a tiny bit of help later on once everything but the events are implemented.

If anyone has suggestions/ideas, I'm happy to listen to them and see what we could implement to make the experience better.

I used to crash every 2-3 months during wartime last time I played MP in HOI 3. That was until I went to the forums and found all the fixes. Most of the crashing is because of the 2gb ram limit.

I imagine rebalancing the game so that they have a massive tech advantage over humans so that they take little damage and hand out a lot, but have zero anti-air capability so they get raped by planes. Their first tech would then be laser class, which would completely wipe out the planes and subsequently the amassed armies.

What I wonder is how would you take into account nations who would rather turtle their own borders rather than contribute to the front? There should be a mechanism to ensure the world isn't easily overrun because noone feels like moving their troops from their own borders. I doubt the built-in AI would be willing to send troops against the BETA doomstacks either and would be content to draw a line of defense and not attack.

As far as the BETA anti-air is concerned. We will have it so when they first land they will get X amount of divisions comprised of various things other than Laser class, and then on the next month they'll get a few brigades worth of them.

As far as the AI goes, usually, the AI sends troops through other countries it has military access with/non faction alliances. If you get lucky your faction alliances will help you out. Hopefully we can fix this/someone on the Paradox forums has a fix for this already.

my personal suggestion would be to use the faction system that is already in the game. its been a while since i played HoI3 but i think it has a triangle to show the 3 major factions; Allies, Axis and Comintern. what i would do is have the BETA at one point and alternative 4 and 5 at the others. give all human countries a massive anti BETA modifier so that they would never ally with them but they could still change from alternative 4 to alternative 5 or back. then have a lock on the use of G-bombs that requires a certain amount of countries to be in the alternative 5 faction, perhaps having an event that activates alternative 5 once there are enough supporters. this could also help to create a world similar to TDA where there is a war between humans where alternative 4 supporters declare war on the alternative 5 supporters after "the day". the problem with this is that you would not be able to change the map to have the G-bomb fucked world with the salt flats and such.
