i'm no good at the code so she's not much different from an old version of the zombie, just walking up to you and attacking you through collision.

I've been thinking about making a VN that's loosely based off of various fairytales/princess stories since 2010. They'd all be transposed into a modern setting, and would lose the magic. Plus there'd only be one Prince, which is you.
Here are some quick pictures of the girls, I have a few more designed besides the ones here. Their modern stories are also figured out for the most part, just not formally written out.

Would anyone be interested in something like this? Or should I just ditch it for good?

it's a modloader mod, so it works with just dumping it into mods folder. should work with forge too.

no idea about compatibility, but i'm guessing if there's another mod that uses the same ids (31 for enemy cirno, 32 for friendly cirno) it'll conflict.

you can lead the friendly version around with sugar.

Sleeping Beauty and Princess&the Pea would go well in KS, maybe Rapunzel too. Most of the girls aren't disabled. just fill certain roles/archetypes commonly found in anime (plus some extras since only having archetypes is boring). If you want to associate them with one another then feel free. Since it'd be made originally in English, most people would associate them anyways just because of that.

I was thinking a simulation would suit it best. Since there are so many characters (fairy tales provide a lot of options) having a good amount of them unlockable.
It's still in the planning stages though so it can go either way! I can't program the statistics, and it'd mostly be about retelling the stories (and all of them are romantic, so it'd fall under the dating genre), so a VN would work just as well for it.

I have yet to come up with a good central plot. Up until now I've mostly been thinking of the characters and individual routes (which are still pretty loose). Any suggestions are more than welcome though.

I was thinking something like this for their story:
She's working at MC's dad's company, where MC was forced to work by his dad, when his mom/stepmom got the great idea to have him help out (the witch's curse). He thinks it's embarrassing, being the son of a wealthy family. He chooses to be the mascot (the beast) so no one will recognize him. Beauty starts working there too after her dad did something at the store, and couldn't pay them back. She's also his senpai at school, but she doesn't know it.

Gerda, that little girl from the Snow Queen, would be very nice. She's one of those rare heroines who actively save their love interest, plus she does it by turning her breath into an army of angels and leading a crusade against the snow bees with her steam-powered divine legions. Her breath literally solidifies into a horde of angels, I can't stress this enough. She'd be a textbook goody-two-shoes class president type, I suppose.

That one girl who marries Tam Lin was great too, since she goes toe to toe with a fairy queen and wins (while Tam Lin himself is not only useless, but actively malicious in some variants - his aim is to save his own neck by substituting his child as the fairy tithe). But Tam Lin is more of a legend than a fairytale so I guess it's out.

I haven't read either of those before, just read the Snow Queen and it's really sweet! There are some points that would be hard to put into a modern setting, but the main problem would probably be point of view. Since you're the MC, either she'd probably have to tell the story to you after saving you. Goody-two-shoes class president, childhood friend, love-conquers-all type girl. The world has become negative and jaded, and has changed her love as well, when he's taken away by a relative to live with her in a far-away city. I have no idea what the angel breath would turn into, though.

I'd have to read Tam Lin before figuring anything out with that, it's still in the planning stages so it could include folklore or legends if the project were to grow big enough (like >>10432856 said, I shouldn't make it too hard initially.)
If it were added in, the girl could be someone he met while at the Snow Queen's castle? We'd have to leave out him having a kid until after the story though.

I think the MC from Saya no Uta got some of the troll mirror in his eye though

It's super simple, just cut out of two layers of fleece the shape plus 3/8 inch seam allowance, then sew with your basic straight stitch around the edge leaving maybe 6 inches open. Turn it inside out, then stuff fiberfill into it and whip stitch the opening closed.

nope, no site, i just posted them here.

i only started doing this few days ago, cirno was my first attempt to make a 3d model, and something for minecraft that wasn't a regular block-based structure or custom skin for player character.

though to be honest, the program i used (Techne) makes it super easy to make those models, making stuff out of cubes with 11 parameters (14 if you count the rotations) is far easier than real 3d modeling.

i doubt i could make a real 3d model without months/years of practice.

No, she is just very lucky. She goes to art classes as an almost live-in situation. She basically breathes it--not just anime, either. She studies the classics, and does plenty of traditional work to further hone her skill. She is very good, no doubt, but even she had to work for it, optimal situation or not.

Alright /jp/,I'm all pumped up and I need some professional critics on this quick Kyouko sketch I made on how to make it more "real" anatomy-wise. I don't care how you do it, comment or sketch down on Kyouko with different ink colour. I'm tired of getting these "looks good" and "cute" comments bullshit.

Also any tips on how to draw in different camera angles? I need to stop drawing people facing the same direction.

Why? Are you drawing an action comic? frontal, sideways, behind, and rotated to a side is all you need. How much art do you see that's way above somebody without being dramatic? How much do you see that's below them without being fetishistic?

Do you sometimes stand on your head while using the computer for shits and giggles? Do you do yoga and gymnastics? Do you draw with your toes?

Why would you contort a body into unnatural poses unnecessarily? It won't look good even if you do it perfectly.

I was working on a cute little STG a while ago. The important parts of the engine were pretty much finished, but I gave up because of some lag issues I couldn't sort out. Guess that's what I get for working with XNA. Lesson learned, I'll move on to SDL/OpenGL.
This was one of the bosses. I drew the head, bangs, body, etc. seperately so I could render them in layers and make them move/tilt slightly. The head movement and eyes follow the cursur.
I also tried to copy that shader effect from the neptunia android app that makes it look like the character is breathing.

I was once writing my own engine with OpenGL and also ran into some weird lag issues that I could have fixed but couldn't be bothered to spend the countless hours needed to fix it.
OpenGL is a huge mess and picky about how it works with different systems. At some point you have to ask yourself whether you want to make a graphics engine or a game, pick one or the other.

Also SDL sucks.

I keep trying to make myself color a single thing each day so I can develop a consistent style (I do it so infrequently I always forget how to, oops), but I always get busy with classes and forget.

Yeah..I used my makeup for that and the color turned out to be way too dark for what I was going for. The hat is made out of felt, but I had a really hard time shaping it since the tacky glue I had was shit and didn't hold at all. I ended up melting the edges over a candle flame. I'm thinking of using fleece next time. But if I do that, I might as well make the entire thing out of fleece.
I've grown fond of the yarn tail, though..
Also, for the cheeks, I'm thinking of using a lighter blush powder or maybe chalk.
