>Pigs can harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be transmitted to humans. These include trichinosis, Taenia solium, cysticercosis, and brucellosis. Pigs are also known to host large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their digestive tract.[16] The presence of these diseases and parasites is one reason pork meat should always be well cooked or cured before eating. Today, trichinellosis infections from eating pork are relatively uncommon, at least in the United States, due to more stringent health laws, better refrigeration, and public awareness of the dangers of eating undercooked meat.[17] Some religious groups that consider pork unclean refer to these issues as support for their views.[18]

>Pigs are susceptible to bronchitis and pneumonia. They have small lungs in relation to their body size; for this reason, bronchitis or pneumonia can kill a pig quickly.[19] There is concern that pigs may allow animal viruses such as influenza or Ebola to infect humans more easily. Some strains of influenza are endemic in pigs (see swine influenza), and pigs also can acquire human influenza.

>Pigs can be aggressive and pig-induced injuries are relatively common in areas where pigs are reared or where they form part of the wild or feral fauna.[20]

I had 2 types. One like the pic shown, but was over cooked dry. The other with just green peppers, was moist, spicy, and delicious.

war is profitable. A lot of the american public just accepts what people tell them rather than looking into things themselves, which is a real shame, especially around election time. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I do think that the general public is incredibly ignorant, and that the government tends to play off of this, by using their citizen's patriotism to encourage things like going to war, or to sign people up for the military. They've been glorifying it the same way the crusades were glorified, only replace god with freedom (well, Christianity does play a part in it). but you cannot function on them as whole. you are going to need protein (A LOT) and fats to have a healthy heart and muscular body.

Carbs and proteins are worth the same amount of calories per gram. (4.5) fat is worth double this (9), ((alcohols are 7))
The only way to gain weight is to take in more calories than you burn. 3500 calories = 1 lb of fat. This is not daily, this can roll over to other days. (ie, you eat 250 over one day and 300 over another, etc etc)

No, but they're still worth the same amount of energy.
Carbohydrates are broken down in your mouth, proteins in your stomach, and fats in your intestines.

This doesnt change the fact that you do need carbohydrates AND proteins in your diet, with more of the former than the latter.

Its still the same amount of calories, even if the time it takes to break them down is different.

>In shark fin soup, the fins themselves are virtually tasteless. The taste comes from the soup, while the fins are valued for their texture. Keith Bradsher of The New York Times describes it as a "chewy, sinewy, stringy" texture.[1] Krista Mahr of TIME called it "somewhere between chewy and crunchy."[12] Dave Lieberman of OC Weekly wrote that it is a "snappy, gelatinous texture". Most westerners' reaction to eating shark fin soup for the first time is that it has almost no taste. However, texture is prized as much as taste in Asian cuisine
