As I've written before, it's an excellent way to demonstrate that you're a member of the academically oriented urban middle class.

People who buy completely outrageous cars, yachts and apartments are humble enough to stick to something that's supposed to have a purpose. Art, luxuries, entertainment, excursions, events and education are likewise easily understood.
