Mods can't range ban you fuckwit. Not only that, other people not connected to the OP would get punished just because they share the same IP range.

i'm not even sure what this guy is fighting for

/jp/ freedom? autistic rights?

When I was a fa/tg/uy, there was a poster called Jim Profit who used an avatar and everyone hated him. One day, ONE person emailed moot, and moot range banned him. Janitors are supposed to keep in touch with staff. If our janitor wasn't a passive dork, he could ask a mod/developer to do it or get in touch with moot. Instead, he's choosing to let someone spam the board.

There are also other criteria besides just banning 123.234.*.*
He could ban by hostmask, for instance. How many people are using that particular domain on that particular ISP in /jp/?

Even if it's impossible without banning 99% of /jp/, the janitors could at least delete these threads. They have to press one button. The fact that I can ever see these threads (and I always can) means I would be more effective than them. Unfortunately for you guys, I don't give a shit. But the janitors VOLUNTEERED to do this.

poor little neo-janny is just scared of taking any initiative on his own
he knows moot would just laugh his ass off and make fun of him
cut him some slack you dumb bully

It's not that easy, otherwise the boards the staff cares about would be free of their chronic shitposters. Yet, said shitposters have been tormenting the same boards for years.

>> No.10315407,3 [INTERNAL]

I don't feel bad at all, if he isn't going to delete clear off-topic crossboard shitposts like the Winnie the Pooh thread, then he deserves every shitpost he gets, as he's directly responsible for them.

I feel bad for the mess the next janitor is going to have to deal with when this one eventually burns out, though.

Japanese netoge are related no matter how you spin it. The board's policies must remain consistent, even when the material is only very tangentially related. You know the thread will die due to the lack of interest from /jp/'s users, so just take it easy and hide it.
