MoonLight Parade
http://sites.google.com/site/starreverbe01/
http://soundcloud.com/kinositaichigo/c83-moonlight-parade
I'm also looking for this, the tracks are calm yet denpa-ish, it doesn't sound overproduced like most stuff nowadays.
---
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPa4yd332jo
Odenpa Studio. Loli stuff. Honestly their style is a bit too tame for my tastes, but most people here like them so check them out.
---
SHAKING PINK -
http://www.orc2000.com/spi/shaking/index.html (press red circle for a preview)
And fuck yeah finally a full length album by Koko, Nanahira and mmbk. For reasons that we all know it might be the first and last, let's hope it's not.
---
This sounds denpa as fuck and I'd love to talk about it but I'm 99% sure it won't be ripped, ever.
---
Sweet Girl Avenue
http://stk2r.com/sga/
Now this sounds good, pretty high energy stuff.
Although what Aura Qualic is doing here is something I'll never know.
---
Zero-Shaft will also release some albums but they don't sound like something you'd expect.

Different denpa releases may sound different unlike other genres, so if you don't like an album don't hesitate to try the next.
As >>10303560 says everything is on DnS blog but I'll post what caught my attention and I suggest checking out.
My feelings are mixed as things don't seem as good as previous Comikets but I'm excited nonetheless.

Cosmic Record -

http://www.masterup.net/otc/product/manyokkoshudaika/
For Kaorin fans, she's releasing an album. This pleases me very much. Judging by the title, is it related to traps?
Also no preview on this one?
---
Innocent Key -
http://innocent-key.com/discog.php?page=24
Usual Innocent Key stuff, moe tracks in-between generic Touhou arranges. It'll most probably get ripped and uploaded.
---
天然ジェミニ and ユウノウミ will be releasing their usual Touhou stuff. I like them but I'm honestly not interested.
---
http://confetto.chu.jp/kemolove/
For Nanahira lovers. Doesn't sound as tame as her latest works at least.
---
MilliRobo.beta -
http://moli3.sblo.jp/article/61028922.html
Now this is what I'm talking about. Over the top, cute, chaotic album from MilliRobo.beta, a must have; I really hope it gets ripped.
Even though it's a recopilation of previous works I'm pretty excited and I'm looking forward to this.
Probably the most denpa-ish album on this list.

Actually, most lyrics in denpa songs are creepy or weird in nature, but it's more rare to see darker melodies.

Weren't they always on a major label?

>> No.10356388

>>10356363

Not in the early days, in a lot of denpa polls MOSAIC.WAV always win by a landslide because...well, they're much better than most denpa groups out there. A lot of people get pretty jealous about this and claim that they don't count because they're signed to Sony but the reality is that they've always been good and people will just have to admit they've raised the bar higher than anyone can reach.

>> No.10356401

>>10356388

Whoops, not Sony. Lantis/Universal.

>> No.10356590

I still think that being signed to a major label in Japan isn't the same as major labels in the west. For some reason, artists under big labels here usually have high production values, a lot of funding, a fuck ton of advertising, they appear on big events like MTV, immediately giving the impression of "famous".

But in Japan I've seen major labels signing indie amateur bands, and they just do the paper work of releasing and publishing their albums, nothing else. Midori (Sony) for example, always did relatively underground live events. Shinsei Kamattechan (Warner Music Japan) still upload amateur-sounding works to nico video, they still have the freedom to do livestreams from their houses, they do rehearsals in a home studio, and they still do lives in places for indie bands.

The same for MOSAIC.WAV.

Of course, this is not always true, J-Pop groups are overproduced as all hell, but for some reason being signed to a major label in Japan isn't such a big thing as it is in the west.

>> No.10356810

Does anyone know any denpa similar to the tracks found on the 電気 Side of MOSAIC.WAV's Greatest Hits compilation?

I'm looking for the less kawaii cute stuff; tracks which deal with concepts like computers, science, data, etc.

For example:

I am Programmer's Song*/

They're normally on the B sides of the singles so to speak, I wondered if there were any other groups who do similar tracks, I think it's more Akiba-pop territory rather than Denpa but it's still very much denpa.

Heard both of these thanks, I have everything by MOSAIC.WAV so far and also UNDER17 and Mail Me.

It's a niche inside a niche deal unfortunately, I haven't come up with much yet.

The second or third track on 「七三値≪ななみね≫ぱすかはダイスを振らない!」 is similar to the ones I posted, that's MOSAIC.WAV's most recent example if anyone hasn't checked it out yet. Hopefully the new single/album will have some more, I liked the way those tracks remind me of Akiba before it was flooded with anime stuff and was mainly dedicated to PC parts and other tech.

MOSAIC.WAV

MOSAIC.WAV

Hello, this is Mandi! I went to all the denkyun events, though the very first one I only went to the end, and the most recent one I missed the end. They are awesome! Definitely my favorite regularly occurring event in Japan. I'm working on event write ups for the site, but I'm really slow... Sorry about that!!

Denkyun lasts for about 6 hrs, but the time flies by. Yes, you can drink. You are required to buy one drink in addition to ticket price. (To get around a Japanese law about live music at night, a lot of places have to do this.)

Denkyun has 2 parts, live music and DJs. The DJs all play denpa music of course. They cover a wide range, all different time periods and genres. A lot of the crowd does otagei, while others just chill. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly and the staff is really nice and funny. Definitely doing it just out of their love of denpa. But I hope you can separate from your dad for this event, on the projector screen they show a lot of eroge footage.

After a few DJs the live part starts, which is always awesome and the crowd goes wild. The denkyun staff focuses especially on getting artists who don't perform live much, so you can see lots of rare performances. After their part is done, the artists usually go out into the (smokey) lounge area to sell goods and do autographs. A nice chance to talk to them, though I feel bad for the DJs who immediately follow the live, cause most people rush out to get autographs. This time apparently there's gonna be DJs in the lounge too.

Afterwards there's a party in a restaurant upstairs. First come first serve reservations are made via mixi. It's a fun way to drink and mingle with the other denpa fans. Most of the DJs and performers come too. Everybody is in the same big room, but you may not really get to talk to the artists much since they are talking with their friends.

If you want any more info about denkyun, contact me on twitter or something. The venue can be kinda hard to find.

Hey denpa guys. There is something I've never understood about denpa. It's not about the music, I enjoy some denpa from time to time...

But what I really can't understand is the obssesion the japanese put on identifying denpa music, which is actually sang by real women, with anime/manga moe characters. I'd prefer knowing the person who is really singing instead of watching some random girl drawn in the cover.

Some songs are sung as a specific character or persona, so seeing an adult woman on the cover kind of ruins the illusion. Of course, everyone knows no real kindergartners were involved in the production of Panda-san Youchien, but just like with voice acting, that doesn't mean you want to be reminded of that during the performance.

That said, I think it's mostly depends on the artists themselves. Many just don't want their face to be seen for any number of reasons (this is not something unique to denpa singers, by the way). On the flipside, there are also people like Momoi Haruko who love being on stage and will happily sing an embarrassing song like Ichigo GO! GO! in front of a live audience.

As most people said, it depends on the artists. It's just that /jp/ is obsessed with mmbk and おでんぱ☆スタジオ so they get more exposure here, and those doujin artists in general don't show themselves.

But many other popular (and very good) artists like MOSAIC.WAV, とろ美, ave;new project, Tamiyasu Tomoe, 茶太, UNDER17, nomico, でんぱ組.inc, etc. show themselves as real people. Many of them use their real pictures instead of 2D characters in their covers and whatnot.

Also many denpa singers are amateur idols. They're usually closer to their fans than your generic J-pop idol.

Ah yeah, I dislike that too. You could use other tags like Composer and whatnot so you don't lose that information.

Still, the tagging is a mess because in doujin music many singers sing in many different circles, do collaborations and whatnot so there isn't a good way to tag them all.

>> No.10392399

>>10392385
Well, Japanese bands are also tagged properly.
The thing is, in a 5 member band, you can be sure all the 5 members will play all the songs in an album. But a doujin circle isn't like a band, it's more like a group of collaborators, which may range from 2 to 15 or 20 people. So if completely different people work in each song in an album, it may not be fully appropriate to tag all the album with the same artist.

Anyway, about the organizing thing, in my player I just don't browse by tags at all. I organize things my own way in folders and set the player to browse by folder.

I downloaded this blindly figuring it had something to do with MOSAIC.WAV, only to listen to it now and realize that I've had that for a while, in FLAC. Sorry for not realizing sooner, here you go.

1-7 is tracks 1-7, がちゃがちゃきゅーっと ふぃぎゅあっと ~ふぃぎゅ@メイト&謝肉祭 ミニソングアルバム contains track 8 and the scans, as well as being named after that folder the files are in. Attached is a pic to show how they all go (or at least how they are on my computer).

Does anyone know if MOSAIC.WAV released the full version of this song? It's beautiful.

Also that OVA was glorious. It saddens me it'll never get a TV adaptation.

I don't know what the hell happened here but the janitor is a faggot.

Was the thread deleted or it expired?

I'm pretty sure it was deleted. I bumped it before I went to bed (and it went to the front page) and when I woke up it was deleted.

Why is this janitor so fucking shitty.

I think Eksopl fixed the trashcan bug, though there's another one now (but it only occurs when the thread is still alive, which this isn't).

This had never happened. The janitor was probably in a bad mood as many other threads were deleted I think.

Question to AoC (or anyone who downloaded the janitor extension that one time):
Are threads deleted on an individual basis or do you click checkboxes or whatever?

There was an image somewhere, but I seem to have lost it.

I don't know about that, moderators in Futaba (script Yosuba's based on) have a panel with checkboxes, but it may be different for janitors in 4chan so they don't abuse it.

All of 4chan's mod scripts are custom (there was a DevBlog article on it but now that's gone).

How do you know about that in Futaba? Is that common knowledge there? Also, do people still have that moe representation of the admin of Futaba?

Futaba is open source:

Somebody please remake, preferably with more album art as the OP.
