Why would someone want that?
Who on earth would not enjoy being at home sweet home, surfing the internet, having fun, playing videogames, reading, watching anime, doing gunpla etc...?

>> No.10175336

srs resbonse lel :D

So, how can I change my hikkikomori ways?
Well, I know of three major methods.

1. Get a job-and waste many hours a week on grinding, even though I don't have to since my parents agreed to support me finical. NO THANKS.
2. Go to university-right now I'm learning a lot of things on my own, at a great speed then it would be possible at university. So, NO THANKS.
3. Get a social life-social life as it is understood in society I happen to live in is not fun at all! NO THANKS.

I was getting at it not being a disorder or comorbid to one, but that's a dumb definition anyway and I agree with you over the experts. If you become a recluse, you have a mental disorder (which doesn't imply anything "wrong" with you, you're just abnormal).

>> No.10175469

>>10175450
What do I need to justify? That's exactly what it is. Humans have evolved as social creatures, and if you seclude yourself from others for too long, it will have long-term negative effects on your psychological state.

It's one thing to enjoy your private time, but another to be incapable of functioning in society

It goes beyond simply refusing to integrate. There is a (personal) reason for doing so and it is problematic for the hikikomori. It isn't easy for them to blend back into society.

Even society at large is becoming less social. I love the "idea" of things like parties, going to the pub, or talking to strangers. Yet normal people spend a party evening on their phone, get drunk as possible at the pub to ease conversation, and wouldn't dream of talking to strangers (unless they're drunk at the pub).

The people who see autism as a step forward in humanity's evolution might have a point.

In Japan, NEET is a euphemism for hikikomori.

Sure, some work, but every term has some workaround. e.g. conscientious objectors can get drafted (and you deserve it, cowards) or some vegetarians eat meat.

>> No.10175683

>>10175678
But then they wouldn't be vegetarians if they ate meat.

>> No.10175924

>>10175683
they get around that by saying they are not vegan. Apparently those are the only ones that don't eat meat. Vegetarians these days eat meat, cheese, and milk all the time. They are selective about it though. Like no beef or something.
