What the /jp/ rules should be? What's wrong with the current ones? What is lacking? What is too much?

Oh wait, that's a global rule already.

There don't need to be any rules because this SHIT board should be deleted.

>/jp/ has always complained about /q/

/q/ is a mere few months old. Metathreads have been universally hated and banished from this board ever since 2008. How about you try to not be so painfully new? Especially before you attempt to decide something for /jp/.

>> No.10174652

I think anime style MMOs should be specifically allowed and anything /e/ level should be specifically ignored, thus letting the mods delete porn threads without people complaining as if it were a NWS board.

The rules should be exclusive instead of inclusive. Rather than, "The following topics are allowed on /jp/:" the rules should be, "The following topics are not allowed on /jp/:" (anime, manga, mainstream video games, etc.)

Besides that: if it's Japanese, it can stay. A thread about Japanese horror films or J-pop isn't going to kill anyone. It's nice having more broad topics instead of walking a tightrope every time you post a thread, wondering if the janitor will give you the benefit of the doubt and let you have your fun.

Of course we did. Back in 2008. They were a serious fucking problem, until enough insults and enough moderation chased them away.

/q/ is a containment board created especially for you and your shit. Use it.

That "idols" bit is misleading, it should really say H!P/AKB48/J-Pop because anything other than those two groups usually gets deleted.

But, you can't expect the normals who run this place to know shit about idols... or anything that belongs on this board really.

To be honest, I don't think it would matter too much. As long as the thread is about something Japanese, I doubt there would be many borderline cases. People have taken the name change too far. We aren't Japan/General or Japanese Culture any more, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss Japanese things. If three people on the board want a thread about miniatures or Hello Kitty, why not let them? If people don't care, the thread will be pruned naturally from a lack of interest. It seems most threads we have either receive 150+ replies or get deleted by the janitor. There are very few threads that just die because nobody gives a shit about them, and most of those threads are just character + catchphrase threads anyway.

>> No.10174741

I'll go ahead and make a thread on /q/ about it. I didn't really want to because it will just bring up the same "it was /q/, not /jp/" reasoning, in the future.

Get rid of visual novels with anime adaptations and/or English translations. That seems like the logical next step.

Remember, like 80% of those /q/ threads are made by Trevor (under the guise of trying to be helpful threads and such). His goal is to expose /jp/ meta-drama to the public, and to make the mods/janitors/moot sick of /jp/.

Why would I do that? Did /jp/ suddenly get interesting or good again? But no seriously, I only check here often when I'm talking to someone in a thread. Otherwise /ghost/ is a weekly thing for me.

Oh. Sorry, that's a misunderstanding then. I also got the opposite impression from your post.

Well it's like, I don't care (because I'm not a part of /jp/ anymore). But I also don't hate the board and wish to see it burn in flames, either. I already mentioned the name of someone who really does, and I don't think people should let that e-bully do what he wants.

It was those animes that were preventing the discssions of light novels. meido is a fucking genius!
