I'm pretty sure that the character Carmine from French Bread's [makers of MB] other game, Under Night In-Birth, is a direct nod to SHIKI never turning up in MB.

He's a crazy murderer who turns his blood into crystal weapons on the fly, and hurts himself to do special attacks. He even does the exact same trick as SHIKI of leaving a blood puddle on the ground which can explode into a blood spike later.

His hair is even white until he coats himself in blood to start the fight.
