I think you mean you don't like many American attitudes and politics. The United States has a an awful lot of natural beauty to it.
I would also venture that the people and attitudes are tolerable as well, just as long as you stick to the Pacific Northwest or New England.

I have spoken to/been around Japanese transfer students.

Obviously introverted, but they are capable of having fun. Aside from them, it was usually a group of assorted whities, a mexican, and a few chines/coreans.

The ones they were obviously not confident in their english were of course much less outgoing (considering they DID leave their country to explore another land, this is interesting to note).
