I got a jury summons in the mail today.

What do am I going to do, /jp/? I'm getting really nervous just thinking about it.

Call them up and tell them that there better not be a nigger on trial.

>> No.10140508

>>10140503

Do this. It would actually work.

Extremely racist people are automatically disqualified as possible jurors.

>> No.10140517

Tell them your a massive racist and that your bias would be detrimental to the court of law's integrity.

Just go. It's a lot of fun. I met a really cute girl at my summons, and she sent me a picture of her vagina after it was over.

Or maybe you'll meet a cool guy who plays the bongos and wears a beret...

You'll likely be dismissed anyway even if you don't come up with a reason.

Why did I laugh at this?

>> No.10140537

That happened to me a couple of months ago too.
I was thinking about telling the lawyer that I am prejudiced against all races, but ended up being too scared that he'd yell at me or something. Luckily for me the trial ended up being cancelled anyway.

i got a jury summons right when i turned 18, and it was awful.
it took hours before anything happened at the courthouse, and later in the day i missed my drive back and spent 12 hours in some town i didn't even know. i was even called up but they contested me, the prosecutors were worried about having an unemployed 18 year old as a juror, thankfully.

I never get picked. They know I'm a freak.

I've never been picked either, but that might be because I'm black. In my city they give you a bus pass so you can get out there too so I think it'd be kind of fun.

Is there a way I can request to be on a jury?

Don't fuck around with it like people are telling you to. If you get caught you will be charged with perjury and could go to jail. First check to see if you have a legitimate reason not to go. In my state, jury duty is deferred if you are a full time student, and I am; so I filled out a form, got it notarized, and gave it to them with a copy of my schedule and I was excused. There are other reasons that will allow an excuse for, but you'll have ot check your state laws. If you have a psychologist or psychiatrist it may be possible to get a medical deferral.

I had to attend a jury duty once before, and I wasn't picked. It was basically just sitting around all day doing nothing, and then finally getting called up and having to answer questions. If that happens to you be honest and they may end up excusing you for some reason. For example if it is a child abuse case they may ask if anyone is uncomfortable viewing images of child abuse, and if you are then tell them. If they pick you, you're fucked; but once you go up there and the lawyers see your autistic ass they probably won't want you.

Don't do this. Many judges will humiliate you on the spot, then hold you to waste more of your time. Just be your normal awkward self. They'll realize you're so far outside normal society and let you go without hassle.

Now, why are you a registered voter?

How is this any different from slavery?

You're being forced to work for us. Liberty for all, though!

They actually pay you.
And usually if you have a job that you missed because of the duty, you can give them the jury duty check and they'll pay you for a full day's work (which is more money, of course).

I'm glad I live out in the country.

I don't own a car since I just ride my horse every where and there's no way in hell that I will ever register to vote.

Those bastards can't trap me with any of this jury bullshit.

Opie, I'm serious, just go in and be a super weird motherfucker and pretend to be retarded. I'm sure you can do that right?

>>10140582

Yes, but the point is that they force you into it, and if you don't agree to do it, they can fine you or send you to jail. This is essentially slavery.

They paid black slaves with food, shelter, and nigger-tokens which was the slave owners own form of currency they could use to buy stuff from the slave owner, doesn't mean it wasn't slavery.

>> No.10140582,2 [INTERNAL]

So, in America, your government forces you to work against your will, and gives you as recompense something which may or may not be of any use to you?

How is this *any* different from slavery, again?

>> No.10140582,3 [INTERNAL]

>>10140582,2
If you have Ashkenazi blood relatives or friends they can teach you how to circumvent the system. The government just doesn't like informing you of the other options.

>Now, why are you a registered voter?
I'm not. Apparently you can also be selected if you have a driver's license or a learner's permit, and unfortunately my parents made me get a permit when I was 17.

>> No.10140582,5 [INTERNAL]

Wow I didn't even know about this. Seems kinda cool, but why put people in jail for not attending? Isn't that too harsh?

>> No.10140582,6 [INTERNAL]

I've gotten 3 summons in the mail and ignored them all and absolutely nothing happened. I got a couple calls from numbers I didn't recognize but I didn't answer them.

What are they gonna do? Nothing.

>> No.10140582,7 [INTERNAL]

If you write them a letter with a good excuse why you can't attend they don't force you to attend. Idiots, the lot of you.

There's a question on the questionnaire that says "Are you able to receive and evaluate information to accomplish satisfactory jury service?". Should I check "no"?

>> No.10140582,11 [INTERNAL]

You should be able to solve this.
