What are some good, reliable chopsticks to buy for someone who does not have access to a dishwasher? My boyfriend complains about the wood chopsticks his parents use. He is very scared of germs staying on them because no dishwasher. I'm looking for a good material and no paint.

I was looking at Japanese chop sticks, and while appealing looking, a lot of them have ridges on the sticks where food might get stuck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Use a fucking fork, Jesus...

>> No.10129004

Just use a fork nerd, you will manage to screw it up somehow.

>> No.10129010

The types of food his family eats are not ideal for forks and would result in a mess. Geez guys.

Some asian dishes are best eaten with chop sticks. Like pho for example where it is needed to pick apart the meat from the bone in the soup.

You know what the solution is? To not eat Asian food. Buy him a hamburger and nachos.

I'm surprised you are tolerated on this board. Ironically his father refuses to eat hamburgers and any American food.

No, you're wrong. A fork will ALWAYS do better than any other utensil. If there was any better utensil than a fork, it would have been invented already, like sporks.

If two little cheap wooden sticks can tear meat from bone, a steel fork will have no problem either.

Has there been any harm from eating with metal chopsticks for a prolonged amount of time? I might be acting overly cautious, but just thought I'd ask.

Chopsticks have already been invented.

With a fork, it would be a lot more clumsy to eat pho. The fork would get caught in the meat and drag it up whereas chopsticks can gently remove small pieces with pinches.

Why not use your buttcheeks?

Maybe his dad should learn to not be picky as HELL and learn to eat good food. He might even like it.

They were invented before cutlery. They are so ancient, they had to use two pieces of wood instead of actual tools.

As long as you use a scrubby and dish soap there should be nothing wrong with wooden chopsticks.

Things made from cotton can give you nerve damage if they rub against your skin often. Try wearing leather instead.
